For one of my family dinners, we went to Ah Yat to try their signature abalone dishes. The restaurant is tastefully done with nice ambience. The highlight of the evening came with abalone and stewed goose web (similar to chicken feet but belonging to webbed feet from geese or duck). The abalone and goose web both were drenched in abalone sauce which was very rich and slightly thick, just the right consistency so that the sauce clings to the ingredients nicely. The abalone is super tender which made it really great to savour. The abalone ia the size of a golf ball so it wasn't too big but really made up for it in taste. The goose web served had been stewed thoroughly and the flesh is easily breakable. Everyone on the table enjoyed the dish which is simple but unforgettable. continue reading

When come to Abalone, this is certainly a costly dish which is everyone's desire or known to everyone, an exclusive dish. We grabbed the opportunity when we found out there was a good deal. The moment we were seated, the waitress started to explain to us the deal and presented to us their F & B menu for beverages and other side dishes order. The service was quite fast, we cut the abalone into a small pieces and slowly enjoying in our mouth. A good taste of abalone is very much relying on the gravy and the cooking skill. continue reading

Abalones are a chinese delicacy well known for being pricy. The abalones were tender and was very chewy and could be cut easily with a fork and knife. I like the savory sauce which is sweet and thick. I would heap lot of sauce on each cutting before eating it. The black fungus absorbs the sauce and goes well with the abalone. continue reading

Since CNY is just around the corner, our boss decided to have a team reunion lunch before CNY. The nearer restaurant that we can find to have Yee Sang is Ah Yat Abalone Forum Restaurant at Avenue-K. We went around 1pm, the place was packed.Boss ordered the Half potion Yee Sang as a symbol of good luck for this year. It is Salmon Yee Sang which taste quite good although I do not really fancy yee sang very much. Roasted PorkVery thick and juicy roasted pork. It taste very nice but a bit oily.Lok Ba KouI don't like this dish. Very oily and a lot of starch with radish only.Fried Tofu with anchovyFried Tofu will be better if it a bit salty but this one is the taste is quite plain. The outlook was quite delicious. Siew MaiVery big siew mai and taste very nice. It would be best if they can serve us the dim sum chilli instead of those hong kong dried chilli.Shrimp Dumpling (Ha Gao)Two large whole prawn inside the thin dumpling skin which taste very nice. The shrimps are fresh and juicy. Writing it make me want to have one now.We only ordered the dim sum and some noodles. They still have a lot of Chinese dishes in the menu. Since CNY, they also offer a few type of 8 course meal which start from RM1299++ and so on.. continue reading
