1. The B Side
Serves artisanal coffee (high quality coffee), they are located at Lido Plaza in Kota Kinabalu. Upon entering, embrace the aroma of the coffee because they are so good! Certainly a hotspot for many here, they serve all-day breakfast too. Worth to try their soft shell crab pasta because it is nicely deep fried till perfect; it is still crunchy and crispy when served! Besides, do try their Smoked salmon pasta, Egg benedicts, counter cakes (on the flavors available) and of course their roasted coffee! With the coffee art on it, be sure to enjoy them all!
2. The B.E.A.N Factory
Also at Lido Plaza here, let us introduce you to the B.E.A.N factory café in Kota Kinabalu! Serves fresh fruit juices, homemade cakes, open faced toast and specialty of Cotton Candy coffee! Nicely decorated latte art with cute drawings, their cakes is a must try too! Looking fancy to have a bunch of cotton candy on top of the coffee, this is one of the most creative things you can find from this café. Remember to order a slice of cake to pair with your coffee and enjoy the environment there as it is cosy and spacious too!
3. Coffee Lab
Maybe you’ll find it weird, but indeed their shop front shows ‘frankie interior design’ this name. They are known as The Coffee Lab by Frankie Interior Design. Looking spacious inside and out, be sure to enjoy your time here! From breakfast to main meals, this cafe in Kota Kinabalu have quite some good selections that you’ll be able to order. Good pricing, this is surely a plus point to visit them more frequent! Besides, they do sell the furniture, coffee tools and accessories of what you can see inside. Do remember to give the Volcano burger a try because it has pork bacon in it!
4. De' L's Café
Have you been to a café in Kota Kinabalu that basically you would love to have everything listed inside their menu? Well, De’ L’s Café is one of them! Simple decorations, cosy and warm ambience inside – they have an extensive menu that serves Asian fusion, breakfasts, pizzas and coffee too! Good food with quality, recommended to try their Smoked Duck Breast Pizza, Rib Eye Steak Burger, Breakfast 4 Champ platter and more to select from the menu. Well, beverage range of course must try their lattes and hot chocolate! With nice latte art on top, don’t you feel unwilling to sip on it?
5. October Café
Owned by a Korean, this café is always packed with patrons. Having some creatively created cakes and food, they do have nice coffee art too. Upon entering, the café is nicely decorated with colorful hanging mugs on the wall. Enjoy delights like French toast, Bruschetta, Korean Street Sandwich and they do serve scones too! Coffee taste smooth and worth sipping while you chill and relax at October café!
6. Santola Coffee Bar
Puts on a great effort to focus on espresso, Santola is one of the best cafe in for coffee at Kota Kinabalu. Cozy atmosphere, they do serve breakfast, lunch, variety of cakes on the counter and desserts too! Most of the patrons are here for their coffee as they are operated by ‘Kopi Cap Kuda’ coffee – one of the largest coffee manufacturers in Sabah! So for a cup of worth-while coffee, Santola is it!
7. Inch Coffee Movement
Thinking all about coffee the whole day? Then this place is your very special place to hangout. Operated by 3 owners, they are here to introduce you coffee. Different type of beans, coffee equipment and discover the coffee type that suits your taste buds! Of course, if you would love to free your mind and go for the ones they have in the menu, they always have their fantastic brew like long black, mocha, flat white and more from their menu! Located next to CAD KK and Damago Travel Agent, be sure not to miss them out!
8. Print Café
Looking for printing services and felt thirsty at the same time? Here is the best cafe in Kota Kinabalu for you to go for a cuppa coffee with some cakes to pair with! Having printing services and a café at the same time, you won’t be bored while you wait for your printings. Simple and cozy interior, they serve simple western food too. Coffee here is fragrant and worth to try! Bright natural lighting makes it quite nice to enjoy some readings inside too!
9. Mad Ben Café
A café that had attracted many foodies to visit them since their opening; he must be mad! Well, not exactly as they are here for the good food and coffee at Mad Ben! Unique interior inside, are you ready for some comfort delicious food? Recommended to try their Lamb Pizza, Herbs Chicken Wing, Chicken Schnitzel and Seafood Chowder too! They have some nice steak as well if you’re craving for it! Besides, they have quite some selection of coffee to choose from their menu. What are you waiting for? 10. Chef Tan
Getting good feedbacks from most of their patrons, that is why they gained acknowledgement from the rest too! Offers both Chinese and western, not forgetting on coffee too! Having selections from pork, chicken, grill, noodles and their specialty of Vintage ‘Kopi Botol’ – which is bottled dark coffee and it is surprisingly good! Other than that, they do have cakes like Red velvet, moist chocolate cake and more from the menu. Food is up to standard and expectation, so be sure to pay them a visit too!
