I ditched my usual open-air-by-the-sea seafood restaurants and went to try out the more snazzy seafood dinner at Pen Mutiara Seafood restaurant. The restaurant is an indoor eatery, fully air conditioned and has a slight classy ambiance. Their prices are above the average mark but fear not, the food is too. They serve classic malay style seafood and their signature dish is the fish head curry (kari kepala ikan). You can find a variation of malay dishes here like spicy crab (ketam masak cili), tumeric squid (sotong goreng kunyit), sweet sour spicy fish and spicy prawns (udang masak cili) to name a few. This is definitely place you go for special occasions or if you want to have fancy lunch/dinner, good for family events or gathering with friends or colleague.
