I really like Siamese laksa and I have been coming here to eat Siamese laksa every Saturday after my extra curricular activities during my school years. I see the same old auntie serving drinks till today and found out that she is 80 years old. Eating here is amazing and brings one back a few decades. The tables are old and the kopitiam is inside an old shop lot. The food is also very cheap at RM 3.50 for a char koay teow. 

There were a lot of ingredients inside the laksa like thinly shredded cucumber, fish, onions, pineapples. The soup is thick enough. One can even opt to mix the 'lemak' (what we call siamese laksa soup) with assam laksa soup. I usually like to eat laksa with crispy fried popiah. Here, the popiah has the crisp to the highest degree. Sometimes, there are crispy prawn fritters to be eaten together too. I notice that they also sell delicious looking nasi lemak with a small assam fried fish and lots of other ingredients too.

If anyone post the question of "Where is the best char koay teow in Penang?" My answer never fails to be at Kedai Kopi Sin Hwa. In fact, every time I come back to Penang, I would definitely make this place my first morning/noon stop. Actually, I never really knew this is the actual name of the kopitiam till today when I decided to write a review about it and starting googling it. The char koay teow here is just nice and not too oily. There were octopus and average sized prawns. The smell is fragrant enough yet the char koay teow is not dark coloured like what people normally fry in KL which usually disappoints me. 

I saw many newspaper cuttings of how the char koay teow hawker won awards in char koay teow cooking contests too.

Kedai Kopi Sin Hwa is a restaurant or cafe or kopitiam servings a wide range of chinese style food, breads and teas.Char Kuay TeowThis dish is the char kuay teow. The beansprouts used were not many. The prawns used are big but they are not so fresh. The kuay teow is full of "wok hei" but the taste was not really nice. It does not taste penang shar kuay teow but just like normal dried fried noodle.

Char Kuay Teow
This dish is the char kuay teow. The beansprouts used were not many. The prawns used are big but they are not so fresh. The kuay teow is full of "wok hei" but the taste was not really nice. It does not taste penang shar kuay teow but just like normal dried fried noodle.

来到penang当然一定要吃的就是这里的炒粿条了。这里的炒粿条配料很多。尤其是我很喜欢里面有着大量的豆芽,我很喜欢豆芽清爽的感觉。完全可以中和炒粿条的油腻感觉。粿条炒到很香,锅气十足

在槟城里,可以看到很多店面,茶室都有卖炒粿条的小摊子。虽然槟城出名炒粿条,但是还会有几间是冒充的骗游客钱。这看起来不起眼的kedai kopi sin hwa,里头有着我爱吃的炒粿条。他们的炒粿条很特别,你可以选择要咸蛋炒粿条。我第一次吃的时候,就尝试了这一道,结果就爱上了。我觉得咸蛋炒粿条比普通的炒粿条多了一份鲜味,更诱人!

槟城有很多char koay teow不过好吃的不是很多。其中一个就是在burma road,这间茶餐室。价钱也便宜。除了一般的char koay teow加蛋,还有加咸蛋。不过这次我们吃的是鸡蛋。这盘粿条不但很香,面还不会粘在一起,不潮湿,不太油腻。炒功了得!

To rry a delicious Char koay Teow is not a simple task... you must have a skillful hand and technique, with charred wok, in order to fry a fragrant and full of 'wok hei' kuey teow'.... The char koay teow here taste undeniably delicious, because I can smell from my tongue, it was laden with lard ... No joke, it was super addictive and delicious, with semi-cooked egg... and cockles and prawns..Definitely one of the good one in Penang!

I could still remember my first time having the Char Koay Teow at Kedai Kopi Sin Hwa opposite the Pulau Tikus police station. And of course, the Char Koay Teow is kind of special too, as it comes with squids and you have the option of ‘upgrading’ it to a duck egg version for extra 50 cents.
Instead of relying on the seafood sweetness achieved by using huge prawns, Sin Hwa’s Char Koay Teow is red hot, which focuses more on wok hei and spiciness – the oomph factor. And not to mention cheaper too compared to those selling at a crazy price of RM7-RM10 per plate.

If you are planning for char koay teow in Penang, you may try one of the nicest one in Penang which is incredibly nice. This coffeeshop is located around Jalan Burmah which is nearby the market and the same row as Swee Kang Coffeeshop.The char koay teow here is nice and it is well fried . You can choose to have with chicken egg or duck egg to fried with. The price is about RM 0.50 more expensive. In my opinion, I prefer to have it with duck egg as it taste nicer and looks abit more oily. Overall

The char koay teow here is nice and it is well fried . You can choose to have with chicken egg or duck egg to fried with. The price is about RM 0.50 more expensive. In my opinion, I prefer to have it with duck egg as it taste nicer and looks abit more oily. Overall the taste can say is simply nice
