one of those classic locals must try whenever you're in Penang, this was definitely something that I knew I wasn't going to miss out on. only RM 2.70 per bowl, super dirt cheap and yummy, with lots of fillings inside, the fragrance of coconut milk and gula melaka does not overpower one another.

This is the famous must know Chendul in PenangHaving to say, I am blessed that I do not have to wait for a long queue like last time to get my Chendul. Usually you would see people standing around the stall to wait for their chendul. But today my brilliant friend found a seat at the other restaurant nearby. So after ordering our chendul, we self-delivery the chendul to our seats. This is the best chendul ever. The brown sugar a.k.a Malacca sugar just goes well with the chendul OH MY GOSH. Now i am craving for this though i just had it few hours back So good!I should have Tapao home. Overall comment: MUST TRY in PENANG!

Last Sunday I went to Penang to visit my cousin. After that follow the GPS to find the famous teowchew chendol.Em... the taste for me is just as normal as other place (except Melaka). Don't expect too much.

This is probably the most sought after cendol in penang. Having recently opened a few branches in malls in penang and selangor, the original push cart by the road side still attract people especially tourists. Some people travel from far just for this cendol. A little background on cendol, it is malaysian dessert made from cendol (the green, pandan flavoured bits of boiled flour), red bean and sometimes kidney beans, coconut milk and brown sugar. There are a lot of versions of cendol and each one has its own distinct taste. I am personally a fan of pulut cendol (cendol with sticky rice), the mamak/indian version. the teochew cendul is the teochew (chinese sub culture) version of cendol which is to me a much lighter cendol than the ones I usually go for. Nevertheless, this cendol is still perfect on a hot sunny afternoon after a walk around georgetown. The number of people lining up for this cendul still amazes me. Their service is fast but the number of people lining up never seems to decrease due to its popularity. Another charm of this small pushcart is that they do not provide seatings, so if you decide to dine in, you would have to do it standing up. It is not much a hassle as it sounds as the rm2.50 bowl can easily be finished in 10 minutes (or under depending on how sensitive your teeth is to the cold dessert and how thirsty you are).
