5 minutes away from Bandar Utama is the famous SS20 fish head noodles.Their menus quite limited in options. So it was not hard to make my decision and after much contemplation, I opted for the haruan fish noodles with my choice of thick mee hoon and a standard mixture of fried and non-fried fish meat. It was smooth and there wasn't much bones to it, making it a relatively simple meal to finish. The milky soup base was definitely much tastier than the clear version. The texture of the thick mee hoon was really smooth and it glides along my throat as soon as I gobble it down.Aside from that, the portion was generous. The bowl of noodles was accompanied by other toppings such as tomatoes, pickled mustard greens, as well as fried shallots to add extra oomph. The addition of pickled mustard greens and chopped tomatoes lends tanginess to the bowl of noodles, making it a savoury and sweet meal.  繼續閱讀

A foreigner friend of mine once said (upon hearing about fish head noodles) that only the Chinese would eat every single part of every single animal, including the head of a fish. I can understand why it sounded disgusting, but the reality couldn't be further from it!The meat was soft and rich, and the soup was milky, sourish, and sweet. 繼續閱讀

Fish paste thin noodle. That day I was feeling quite lazy to eat fish with bones, so I opted for fish paste instead. I took the thin noodle and it somewhat tasted better than the thick one, as it as springy. There were quite a few pieces of fish paste in it and springy too. The broth was milky and slightly salty due to the "ham choy" added. I like it together with some peppery taste. 繼續閱讀

Its located at Damansara Kim, same row as the Super Tanker Chinese Restaurant. The road is quite dark after the chinese restaurant, but no worry as the SS20 Fish Head Noodle sign board is super bright, you wont missed out the restaurant. There are several newspaper cutting and blogs article reviews sticked all over the wall. This restaurant is quite well-known in the town area. Soya milk with cincau @ RM3.30Soya milk is smooth and nice. Heard that they are famous selling soya milk in TTDI before this biz.3 types of Main Course Fish noodle:The originals come with Fine Mee Hoon while the choice of Lai Fun and Thick Mee Hoon will have an extra RM0.50 charge. We ordered all for thick mee hoon, because is the best for fish head noodle. Haruan Fish head noodle (生魚片) @ RM10.00comes with original mix Fry and Non-fry OR you may request for just Fry or Non-fry.Soong Fish head noodle (松魚) @ RM8.50Fish paste (魚滑) @ RM8.00The fish paste is quite chewy. All noodle come with 4 pieces of fish. The soong fish is quite thick.Their fish-flavoured broth added Chinese Sweet Rice wine (花雕酒) in it. Remember to inform the waiter to reduce or exclude the wine if you can't take alcohol. As for the taste, i personally feel it can be more sourish. May be i love sour type of fish head noodle. This is bit too mild and because the noodle is tasteless it really needs strong flavoured broth soup to balance up. 繼續閱讀

There is only 1 thing I don't really enjoy when I eat fish head noodle. After I processed with the meat and I need to spit the bone out. However, that doesn't kill my interest off from fish head noodle. The fish here comes in fry or non fry cook with preserved vegetable, tomato, ginger, spring onion, fried onion with 4 pieces of Soong Fish with or without evaporated milk. Normally when you order fish head noodle, they will give you sambal as well. You can't find it here. According to the owner, the main reason is he wants you to taste the original taste of the fish head noodle. What he said is right. This is the first time I eat fish head noodle without any sambal and yet, the taste is superb. The soup is sweet and has some milk fragrance. Because the fish is fresh, therefore you won't have any fishy taste. 繼續閱讀
