I like to hang out in Desa Park City, quite and ample of parking bay. I purposely drop by for lunch today. I have chosen Onde Onde this time as it is less crowded today which usually pack and need to wait for the table.I was served to table for 4 upon my arrival, browsing the menu wonder what to eat today. Finally, I decided to order Siam Mee Hoon whereby my friend would like to have Big Breakfast to pair with Teh O Ais Limau and Limau Ais respectively.Siam Mee Hoon (RM10.90) was served after 5 mins, it seems like the Mee Hoon was cooked before hand and heated using the Microwave. In short, is not cook upon ordering. I felt regretted as I expect made to order. The taste of Siam Mee Hoon was average, not spicy but a bit dry for me. Fried chicken chunk was served cold with onion topped with Thai Chilli Sauce. The 2 big prawns on top were cold either.Big Breakfast (RM16.90) comprises of Toast, Scramble Egg, Bake Bean, Ham, Sausages, Harshbrown and salad. Upon serving, this dish was not appeal to me at all. Let’s go through one by one. Toast, salad, sausages and bake bean were considered normal. However, the Scramble egg was overcooked, it was taste like fried egg instead. Harshbrown was overcooked as well as its turned dark brown colour with excessive oil on it. Ham (pix shown below)which is close to pink colour, to me this is consider low grade product and my friend did not bother to touch it.As for the beverages, Teh O Ais Limau (RM5.90) and Limau Ais (RM3.50) which were normal. Nothing much to comment about. 繼續閱讀

I know some of you might have heard about the place called Waterfront at Desa Parkcity, onde onde is located at one of the shoplots and it focuses on bringing scrumptious Nyonya and local delights to residents in the neighboring housing areas. Placing strong emphasis on delivering great taste and food quality are the business’ laurels. onde onde believes that when serving local food to the Malaysian public, one has to deliver results, by surpassing consumer expectations as Malaysians know their food well. Upon our arrival, we were welcomed by Muiz, the restaurant manager for onde onde.Combo B (RM15.90), a combination of a plate of Special Fried Rice, a bowl of Curry Laksa comes with 2 side dishes and 1 piece of Nyonya kuih. Amongst onde onde’s best sellers, are its Assam Laksa and Prawn Noodles (‘Mee Yok’) which are family recipes passed down generations and is now available to onde onde customers.Hot coffee (RM2.80).The aroma of the coffee reminded me of the coffee in my hometown and the taste was not too sweet but good enough to cure my caffeine cravings. The onde onde’s ground coffee which is sourced from a traditional family roster in Ipoh is one of their highlight ingredient. Grilled Toast with Duck Egg Kaya & Butter (RM2.80). The toast was quite soft and easy to bite unlike the one that I had in other coffee shops and the kaya taste suits my taste bud. The uniqueness of this toast is its ‘kaya’ which wass home-made, using a traditional recipe of duck-eggs, fresh coconut milk and ‘Gula Melaka’ as key ingredients. It involves 7 hours of continuous and gentle stirring to prevent the ‘kaya’ from over-caramelizing or cuddling. This is Japanese Cucumber Sour Plum Juice (RM5.90) which reminded me of the Soya Cucumber drink that I had at Buddy Smoothies not long ago. This one had sour plum with it and it's purely refreshing!Iced coffee (RM2.90). Surprisingly the price for this cold drink is only 10cent more than the hot one.Anyway, I would prefer the hot one than cold Iced coffee (RM2.90). Being a girl grown up in Teluk Intan Perak, I'm always proud with Teluk Intan Chee Cheong Fun which has now becoming a famous food among many. But at the same time, I love Chee Cheong Fun comes in other variety too, such as chee cheong fun with yong tau fu, chee cheong fun with curry chicken, and Penang chee cheong fun in prawn paste.Good thing is now I do not have to travel all the way to get a taste of Penang chee cheong fun, as I can get it in Onde Onde Restaurant located at Waterfront Desa Park City. Onde Onde is a cozy, comfortable restaurant that focus on authentic Nyonya delights. The restaurant is nicely decorated with traditional handy crafts, and some antique ornaments.Penang Chee Cheong Fun with Prawn Paste. (RM6.90)I had a try of their Penang Chee Cheong Fun with Prawn Paste. Ladled with har gou and drizzled with minced dried shrimps and sesame, the chee cheong fun was smooth and decent. I hadalways afraid of the strong taste of har gou but surprisingly onde onde's combination turns out to be delightful for me. There was also a side of sambal to give an extra kick to the chee cheong fun. Recommended. 繼續閱讀
