On my last Christmas morning, no rushing and take away breakfast, i start my day peacefully with someone i heart. Latte(RM9) come with a gingerbread-man as my accompany of the day BF had Nutmeg Big Breakfast (RM31) which consist of two scramble eggs/ lamb sausage/ confit mushrooms/ roasted garlic tomatoes/ fried mac& cheese/ house cured salmon/ toasted brioche, the portion is HUGE as shown, and definitely mean for sharing. Dessert table sets right on the entrance, indeed irresistible. But I had myself controlled, and order French Toast (RM18) instead. The toast is superB! Soft and fluffy on the inside with a wonderful crispy outer crust and the portion is pretty giant too ... ^^"

After a rather negative first experience I had eating at Nutmeg, I was a little hesitant to return. However a friend assured me that things would improve as they give this place quite a good review. So reluctantly I went back with a rather low expectation so at least I won't be too disappointed if things were to turn out as it did before.Perhaps because it was not lunch time so there were not too many patrons eating there. We got a table relatively quick and our waiter was more attentive this time, giving us a menu each almost instantly. I knew then to not order their baked eggs even though I wanted to have some nice runny egg yolk.Instead my friend recommended the Chicken & Waffles. Which neither are really my ideal brunch or lunch order. But with good faith I ordered it anyway and it is safe to say that my impression of Nutmeg has changed after having this dish.Sitting on top of a really nice light waffle is a slice of cheese, perfectly fried chicken with some corn strewn over it and then a beautifully poached egg. Also there's a little drizzle of maple syrup to keep it in it's 'southern' style. This dish I really liked because the flavour of everything just goes so well together. And having the richness of the yolk from the poached egg drizzling all over the crisp waffle & chicken was just heaven in a bite. So this dish has become my number one dish to order when I do visit Nutmeg and now, I no longer feel a slight disdain for the place.In fact I think I will go there almost every time I'm at Bangsar Village. Just for this dish.

Nutmeg has their name around the cafe exploration quite outstanding. With their unique dim and bright cafe interior, they serve food that blows your mind away. Every plate they serve are with well mannered waiters who flashes a million dollar smile at you. Every bite you take is flamed with seasoning that makes your tastebuds wanting more. Top service and big portion food on a plate, it is a cafe not to be missed.

Today May,21 i walked in with my friend by welcome from the NUTMEG crew. So we order one set of lunch which included one fish soup, spicy tuna spaghetti, a carrot cake plus another side order which is two more poach eggs.After the soup was serving, the main course which is spaghetti serving. While we eating I found out one short (hair) so I wonder to ignore it, but later one I found out another more. So I invite waiter to ask what was this two little (hair) was.. The waiter was taking my spaghetti away; I think should be asking the chef from kitchen. Then he come out said, the chef also no idea what was it. First they just simply remove two of the (hair) away.So I was thinking should I continue my food or I should left it, then I found out another longer about 3cm long (hair). So I decided to ask another waiter for it. She just walk away and said try to find it out for me. But later, she come out said:” so sorry” the chef decided to FOC us this spaghetti.Then we thought that we can continue our dessert which is carrot cake, and our side orders which we ordering. About half an hour to go, they never serve us or walk toward us. Just let us sitting there by ourselves. I was wondering how come my food didn’t be serving anymore but others? Then we ask for our order, they just direct replied:’’ you didn’t have any side order!’We was so hungry & mad because we sitting there just for a soup and half of the spaghetti with (hairs). Even they said we don’t need to pay, but they never ask whether we need other order? or should they exchange another food for us. But kicking us out of the Nutmeg restaurant. I have go through all the comment of this restaurant only I decided to walk in, but who's know this is so awful lunch & worst experience that we had for today in Nutmeg , Bangsar Village.

It sounds like a restaurant that sells Penang-style dishes. Hence, I was contemplating if I should pay a visit as I don't want to pay RM20+ for my laksa. Haha... There's one day when I hanged out with my Penang college friends, we passed by BVII and I decided to walk pass Nutmeg restaurant.Surprisingly, they are serving coffee, big breakfast, wine, and more western food. That amazed me and I decided to go in and try out with my babes.Great environment and I like their service =)
