I have 2 dreams. The first was to dine at Cantaloupe and I fulfilled it on my birthday in 2015 whereas the other dream was to visit Marini's on 57. I have been having the desire to come to Marini's ever since I heard my classmate saying about bringing me here for my birthday but she thought it was expensive and we went to Helipad instead as the food at Helipad is more affordable supposedly. I have 2 dreams. The first was to dine at Cantaloupe and I fulfilled it on my birthday in 2015 whereas the other dream was to visit Marini's on 57. I have been having the desire to come to Marini's ever since I heard my classmate saying about bringing me here for my birthday but she thought it was expensive and we went to Helipad instead as the food at Helipad is more affordable supposedly. It happens that me and my best friend just had a whole day of spa at Lavish Spa KL where the food is too normal and not worth the price paid. 

The experience of entering Marini's on the 57th floor of tower was amazing. We had to go through 3 lifts just to reach the 57th floor. The outlook is very sophisticated. There are a lot of businessmen who perhaps had some functions or business meeting earlier at KLCC or Petronas tower come here to chill. We overlook the Petronas Twin Towers which were so huge and gigantic in front of the bar. The entire ceiling is made from glass to enable patrons to see the twin towers and enjoy the meal. We did not make a booking but luckily we got a really strategic and comfortable seat on the 2 big sofa lounge where we face the towers. The waiters were very busy here and would only come to you after at least 5 minutes. A lot of locals come here to celebrate birthdays and achievements. 

We ordered the Pinot Noir Brancott Estate red wine from Marlborough, New Zealand, for RM 228 per bottle. The wine has some fruity taste and was to my liking. Due to my friend's love for red wine, I have learnt to have acquired taste for red wine. The wine is suitable for any non-alcohol drinkers as well with only 13.5 % alcohol content. The waitress was so busy that she forgot to bring the ice the chill the wine till we requested for it. 

I also ordered the Tiramisu (RM 32) which is Marini's signature dessert. However, I dislike cream so I did not finish the rest of the cream. I only ate some of it together with the wafer surrounding it and of course, the lovely raspberries, strawberry and blueberry. 

My friend ordered the deep fried softshell crab with avocado mayonaise which were amazing. It came in two portions only and had avocado mayonaise sauce to go with. The crab has a slight spice inside. It was amazing to go with cocktails or wine. Sorry I cannot remember the price but perhaps it was about RM 40 

My friend also ordered a white wine of Sauvignon Blanc, also from Brancott Estate, Marlborough, New Zealand. I loved the taste of the sweet white wine and may request for white wine the next time we go out together. It costs RM 40 for a glass only. 

I ordered Marini's signature cocktail which was recommended by the waitress, called Mellowed Sundown Cocktail (RM 35) made from Absolute Blue Vodka, Passionfruit Puree, Apple Syrup, Lime Juice and Pineapple Juice. The concoction was simply amazing. I felt like I was in cocktail heaven when  I drank it. The bartender must have been so fantastic. 

In between drinking wine and cocktail, of course we went to the patio or terrace to have a closer look of the Twin Towers and feel the wind blowing in our hair. It was pure enjoyment on the 57th floor. 

This is definitely an awesome place to hang out with your loved ones, business associates and to have a rendezvous in the sky. It is a very romantic place too. 

The moment up there was timeless. The ambience makes the memory timeless. I would remember this till the end of life. 

My next dream is to have fine dining in Marini's restaurant and also to experience Dining in the Sky.

this tiny dessert looks really presentable with the red juicy strawberries and i thought was some sort of puddingbut it does not have the same consistency as puddingwhen you spoon it, it disintegrates like custardthe custard is also not very smooth and fine, it's like eating very mushed up porridgei think i tasted something like peaches or mangoes in the dessert

i think this is the best pasta on the menuthe flavors from the duck is so appetizing you really need a second serving because one plate is simply too smallthe papardelle is made of fresh pasta flour which is shaped using a fork too look like shellsthe papardelle is than simmered with the duck and its fat to give out this amazing aromathe dish is also garnished generously with rocket leaves and shaved parmasan cheese

when I ordered the sausage platter I was imagining the ones you get from German restaurants
it tasted like it but the portion was way smaller
there were three six inch sausages there
served with a side of mustard
and garnished with pickled cucumber and shallots
the sausage was really meaty and smelled great after it was grilled

marini's outdoor seating is full of couches or high tables and bar stoolsat night when the sun is down, the only lighting you have at marini's come from decorative cubes that illuminate red light from all four corners of the outdoor seating areaso by 8pm you will be looking like you're at a red light district area and you won't be able to identify what you are eating because it's all red in colorthe smoked beef slices looks raw and like beef jerky because of the maroon colorbut it is cooked perf

if you're seated outdoors, you will have a good view of PETRONAS twin towers as well as the KL skyline
in the evening when its still bright, the music played is slow and serene
but when night falls, the tempo picks up and a different crowd comes in

the mojito is a typical cocktail that you find in most beverage menus
it is basically tequila with mint leaves
this particular mojito had laici fruits in it just to give the customer a little something to chew on
it is a refreshing drink

we ordered the cocktail assuming that all cocktails are sweet with a kick at the back from the alcohol
but this cocktail was made out of beer and it was not sweet at all but instead it was bitter
this would cater more for the men and the ladies can just stick to your cosmopolitans

Talking about the restaurant or bar here, it is really an awesome and interesting place. Looking at the view, the environment, everything is so perfect until the food come. The portion is so small until i will say you can compare the size with dim sum chee cheong fun. No doubt the view is something special where you are so close to klcc. It is just right beside and you get to see public bank. But the food and beverages is real disappointing. Well at least to non rich people like me.

The entrance to Marini's can be best spotted from outside Mandarin Oriental Hotel's lobby; take the express elevator, which whisks customers within 60 seconds to near the top of the 58-floor Petronas Tower 3.

Spacious, sleek and sleaze-free, flooded with natural light in the early evening. Marini's opens by 4pm everyday, closing a full 12 hours later before dawn breaks. Marini's on 57 features air-conditioned and alfresco areas. There'll be separate sections for an Italian restaurant and a whiskey lounge by mid-July; we're keen to see what those will look like. And for folks keeping count, yep, this is now KL's highest-level watering hole; Skybar, Luna Bar and The View are mostly on the thirtysomething-floor of their buildings. The trump card might be the unbeatable proximity to the Petronas Twin Towers. Positioned as both an after-work haunt and a late-night party place, Marini's seems to require reservations for the best tables.

As more eateries work to open before Ramadan, we're looking forward to the next few weeks. In an eerie coincidence, this entry on Marini's on 57 comes a day after our Midi 57 post (the former's on the 57th floor of its skyscraper, the latter's No. 57 on its street). Perhaps that's a number that warrants a closer watch. Rest assured, a few more up-in-the-air hangouts will open before 2012 is over; keep an eye out for THIRTY8 by the time the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur opens in September.
