Ikea is having promotion of this new dish- Vienna sausage which cost just around RM12Comes with coleslaw and fries, the Vienna sausage is a very long sausages that topped with brown sauce.The lean and tasty Vienna sausage is crispy at the external with succulent meat inside.There is no fat in them . The sauce is nice as well, not too concentrated and couple well with the sausage.During weekend there are lots of patrons queuing for their nice food so do come early as seats may not be enough.

I'm not a fan of Swedish dish but i'm in love with it after trying few signature Swedish staples at Ikea. I had myself a chicken whole leg with herb sauce , boiled potatoes and fresh vegetables. The chicken is quite tender and juice , plus the sauce is appetizing as well. The dish is nice and the chicken is well marinated. Me and my friend had some rest at ikea restaurant café while shop at the curve. I'm craving for some nice dessert and so I had myself an apple pie cake in Ikea cafe. The cake serves in cool but you can heat the cake in their provided oven if you love to have the dessert in hot. The dessert is a little sweet but is balanced by the crunchy pie which is salty. Ikea restaurant and cafe is a self-service concept restaurant with cheap and nice food located at the 2nd floor of Ikea building. Today I was having lunch at Ikea restaurant café after walking around ikea for an hour. I heard that the meals at this restaurant was nice with varieties of choices and hence I decided to had a try. Me and my friends had 5 pieces of chicken wings as snacks, which is one of their famous dish. The chicken wings was incrediblely nice as it was a little of crispy with juicy meat, fried in their special mix of spice. I went to IKEA to buy furniture for my new home with my family. After shopping, I worked up an appetite and chanced upon the IKEA restaurant. Swedish MeatballThis chewy meatball is also a hit amongst the patrons. Served with a unique sauce which is of strawberry, seems to complement the dish pretty well with the pepperish brownish gravy too. The meatballs are solid and flavorsome, with generous serving of long fries too. However, I felt that the fries is not as delicious as last time. Hope there is some quality control being implemented.

Mushroom SoupHere you go, a bowl of mushroom soup making its stand at the soup of the month. I find it bit dilute compare to those mushroom soup which actually served at the restaurant, where they are more creamy and fragrant, with some bites of the mushroom. Black pepper is also not adequately added making it less tasty. Unless, they do douse some oregano herbs, then it’ll help to improve it further.

Princess CakeSeems like the menu has changed a bit. This is a similar version of Daim cake previously, but not as chocolaty and sinful as the former. This dessert that has the resemblance of the famous inhouse cake actually is a mixture of chocolaty flakes at the bottom with some cake crumbs in the middle. Therefore, you could actually feel the softer portion of the layers and no longer as nutty as the Daim Cake. I guess am missing the former more.

IKEA Poached Salmon This is a much healthy fare as compared to its other selection. It didn’t involved much frying or intense marinate, but just poaching of the fish to retain its freshness. It is only drenched with some light buttery and pepperish gravy, alongside some soft baked Russell Potato and few chunky Broccoli. However, I would appreciate if they choose to cut the vege into smaller bite-sized for easier consumption.

Chicken Leg with Swedish HerbActually, the moment it arrived, it looks like the usual ABC soup that my mom cooked at home. Not as attractive as its other selection of menus, but worth trying. It’s also pretty simple dish that involved more on braising, thus not oily, alongside side poached side dishes like carrot and potato before drenched with some herb gravy.

Fried Chicken WingsComes in a serving of 5 on a plate, might not be enough to fill up the gnawing stomach, hehe. The chicken wings are fried till dark brown with the skin being bit smoky and sweet. Am not sure if any particular marinade involves, but the skin is pretty savory and the meat is still agreeably tender. Being Malaysian, we would always paired this snack with some chilli and tomato sauce to hike up the pleasure.

Fish and ChipsYou would never go wrong with Fish N Chips. Simple as it sounds but make a hearty one. It is also comes with a portion of thick cut fries which are soft and chunky ones. This would be another good alternative to the meaty meatballs. The fish fillet is fried till slightly golden brown, and there paired with some Tartar sauce to go along. Should you on the adventurous side, you could always experiment it with , say for instance, mustard sauce?

Shrimp SandwichThis Open Face Shrimp Sandwich is for those who is on diet, or whoever that wishes to have some simple meal quickly. Compared to other sandwiches, it’s pretty special as it comes with the fillings of shrimp, rather than the ubiquitous tuna or egg mayo. Filling is adequately creamy and flavoursome, goes well with the fluffy sandwich and a cup of coffee perhaps?
