This authentic Italian cuisine is founded by award winning chef Masaaki Honda in Shibuya, Japan in 1978. Capricciosa has now 134 restaurants across the world and is visited by approximately 12 million guests each year. It is pecializes in pastas and pizzas and all their products are cooked upon guests' order to ensure freshness. All pastas are served al-dente, meaning it's not overcooked nor undercooked, the perfect authentic Italian way of eating them. Currently this restaurant offers express value set lunch, from RM9.90 which includes soup of the day and bottomless soft drinks. I have ordered Spaghetti with Mixed Vegetable Set. The Spaghetti taste good, would recommend for someone who is a vegetarian.

The number one Italian food craze founded and made famous in Shibuya, Tokyo since 1978 is here in Malaysia. Their selling point is the handmade. The secret of Capricciosa‘s popularity is in the hand-made special sauce created from imported Italian tomatoes. They specialize in pastas and pizzas and serves authentic Italian dishes in large portions. I visited the Sunway outlet and the dining ambient is wonderful but the food did not please my taste bud.The pasta choices were really good. They are all mouth watering choices, but I had my heart set on seafood, and I didn’t want to go for the usual salmon ( always salmon…). So I made a horrible choice of ordering the Fettuccine with fresh mussels and clams. Think peppery clam stock with fettuccine which tasted no any different from the chowder soup. There is only one word after the whole burning sensation in my digestive track- “lots of pepper”. Oh wait,..that’s three word.Anyone with a heavier taste bud or liking to pepper would adore these two items. At least, I really do appreciate the texture of the pasta. It has great texture on the chew and not mushy or soft like most overcooked pastas. This is still very subjective to our local preferences. Some of us like a smoother and softer texture while others like the harder chew.The Spaghetti with Crab Meat in Tomato Cream is deliciously appetizing with suitable creaminess to neutral the tart flavour from the tomato. This sells at RM 24.90 each. The portion is enough for more than one person for small eaters.

Part of the set lunch with complimentary soup of the day and drinks, I got the chicken cutlet. It took a while to serve but it's quite worth it. The chicken cutlet's batter was crispy and not too dry, leaving the juiciness of the chicken untouched. The potato cubes were also tasty and firm but not hard. The vegetables were fresh and lightly salted, completing the awesome meal. The portion is huge so in the end I couldn't finish the potatoes. Perhaps if there weren't any soup, I could have finished it.

Their value lunch set is really affordable (considering very cheap).By just paying RM9.90++ ( RM11.50 after tax) you get a soup of the day+main dish of your choice+drink which is refillable.The environment is good since there's not much people making noise. I must say, some of the staff is nice and polite but some of them are not.Their pizza is charcoal grilled and at this price, it taste alright. It's crunchy and you can just add more cheese and chili flakes to make it taste better. Not something like garment food but I like it because it taste like the pizza I've tasted in Paris.No worries there's not much burnt ash under the pizza and I like their soup.

Frankly speaking, I quite like to enjoy eating their italian pasta over here. One of my always favourite is the cheesy carbonara. The cheesy carbonara here of course is very cheesy, but it won't gives you the kind of feel that is a bit too much. The flat creamy pasta is fully covered with the cheese. The cheese fragrance non stop flowing surrounding your mouth after you eat it.
