This cozy neighborhood bakery tempts customers with the promise of Swiss-style pastries and bread baked daily. Alas, none of its offerings prompted us to yodel their praises. A potential picnic basket comprising a mini custard strudel, a vanilla chocolate twist & a crescent gipfel (butter croissant). Reasonably priced and fairly fresh, but the selection looked and tasted run-of-the-mill. Or maybe we were there too late in the evening.

The Bread Basket is a bakery located at the corner of the restaurant area. Settling in the comfy corner, aroma of freshly baked breads can be smelled every morning. Upon entering the bakery, different types of breads are displayed on the counter. After a long thought, I decided upon apple roll, banana roll and vanilla swirl. The apple roll was filled with apple sauce with gentle hint of cinnamon, while the banana roll was filled with banana puree. The vanilla swirl was rather lack in taste except for the sugar icing on the top.

First up is the Hazelnut Bar (RM 3.45). It was a bit dry and tough, but the hazelnut flavour was present and noticeable so I'll pass this off as tasting acceptable. It was glazed with sugar outside so the pastry had a nice tinge of sweetness to it. The hazelnut filling could have been more refined though, we found that the hazelnut paste was not smooth enough.Next up we have the Mushroom Strudel (RM 4.75). The fililng was sparse here, but the pastry tasted better than the Hazelnut Bar as it was softer and more airy. The filling tasted quite average though accompanied with the smoky flavour of the sesame seeds. Though better than the Hazelnut Bar, there's still room for lots of improvement.
