My friend just cannot stop harping on the best Lam Mee in Seri Kembangan. As for me, I never really am a Lam Mee lover in Selangor, perhaps because I do not like Fat Noodles such as the one used to make Hokkien Mee the KL Style though my father likes it. Anyway, just to please my friend, I agreed finally today, on Thaipusam day. My friend said that usually it is difficult to get a seat here but today that does not seem to be the case. Since I do not like fatty mee, I ordered Lam Mee with bihun. My friend kept discouraging me but I ignored it. It turned out that he is right and the thick lam mee sauce only tasted delicious with the fatty noodles. So much for not listening to him who has eaten there several times his entire life. I also liked the Sotong balls which I can still see traces of the purple tentacles of the octopus sticking out! Very fresh and authentic! The Sui Kow was also amazing that I kind of regretted not ordering more than one piece. The Chestnut lent it the crunch which my mouth certainly agrees and would have nodded if it could! The Red Bean Ice Kacang was quite ok but I would not comment on that since I am not a red bean fan. Thumbs up for the Honeydew Sago where there were small fresh balls of real honeydew. There was a lot of santan milk so I did not finish it as I was afraid of getting fat. My friend said that in the past, we have to pay additional RM 0.80 for each small plate of sambal. But I do not think it is that special. Oh, and the strange thing is that the waitresses would walk around carrying trays of sambal! The sambal is quite watery, not much difference from the ones at the Pan Mee stalls and the sambal bought in Penang market is much better, cheaper and more worth it for Rm 2.50 for a big tupperware! The price is quite affordable and much cheaper than Lameeya but they are both nice too, no offense. Of course this one is less commercialized. Each plate of Lam Mee with big slices of prawns cost only RM 7 but the add-ons like Sui Kow and Fishballs are more expensive at RM 1.20 per piece. Shall I add that the cafe has gotten an A for Hygiene! Very few cafes like these would get this accreditation. 繼續閱讀
