Based on a recommendation by my mom's friend, we made our way to Cheras to try dishes from Eight Treasures restaurant. Considering how hot today was, I really did not want to leave the house so you could imagine how sour my mood was by the time we arrived. I had no intention nor desire to eat as I sulked and wished to be anywhere but outdoors. The curry is thick and creamy with a slightly salty and spicy taste. The ingredients that came with it are firm tofu, cabbage, fish head and lady's finger. It was brimming with the ingredients and all of it has been well flavoured with curry taste and served hot in a claypot. The gravy is very good when paired with rice as the milky taste is intoxicating. Highly recommend this to try.The restaurant is well known in the neighbourhood as a place that serves well cooked chinese dishes.

This restaurant has very good dishes which are highly recommended. The seating is limited and I felt at home while dining there with the cosy decor. Even an ordinary dish like fried kailan was worthy of mention. The kailan is fresh with a tinge of bitterness that comes with it. It was stir fried with garlic and the sharp taste of garlic delivered the right flavour to the dish. It was also not oily with just enough oil to keep it moist and crunchy.

We have ordered about 6 - 7 dishes in total for the portion of 10 diners. All went home with a big smile of satisfaction. The price per head was about RM25 including drinks and rice. First visit to most of us. I love this steamed chicken dish a lot, moreover with the sweet and tasty chicken essence broth is certainly very nourishing and appetizing. For those who wish to dine at Eight Treasure, it is advisable to reach there earlier say, before 630pm as it has very limited dining tables which are not of equal sizes as well, small tables for 4 diners and larger tables for up to 10 adults. In total it has not more than 10 tables in a small shop lot. First come first served basis as well. However, the service is fast.One of the dishes we ordered was a simple Tofu with veg. Love it for the soft texture and nutrient food as well.
