continue reading

Aglio Olio. Apart from its famous cakes, Suchan also offers some Western and local cuisine. The spaghetti came with prawns, green mussels and dried chilli strips. The cheese powder on top was too "smelly" till I had to move them away. The mussels were good while the prawns were slightly small size. There were some garlic-ky taste of the spaghetti. Overall, it was just an average dish. continue reading

We had heard a lot about Suchan's Pavlova, so we were eager to give it a try. Alas, I wasn't very happy because the meringue shells were too chewy, and didn't melt in my mouth. The strawberries on top were sweet though, same with the cream inside the cake. For our other slice, we chose the Mascarpone Cheese which thankfully, was more satisfying. This was rich and silkily textured with chocolate bits embedded in the smooth cheese. It was sweet, but I thought it could have been a lot sweeter. However the slice of cake was very thick, and the chocolate layer on top was very milky and tasted just like melt-in-your-mouth. The two pieces of cake, with two cups of tea was called the Cupid Set and it came at RM 28. continue reading

The reason I visited this place was because I was told they serve tiramisu cakes on par with those found in Alexis outlets. I was rather taken back with the cake portion when it was served, the cake was smaller than what was served in Alexis and it was cut rather unevenly. The dollop of strawberry jam was watered down and there was hardly enough for three bites. I found that the nuts were too little and sparse unlike Alexis tiramisu cakes which had bigger and more nuts. continue reading
