This little japanese store is hidden behind a row of seemingly unoccupied office lots on the second floor of Wisma Cosway. I find that most of the patrons here are japanese businessmen or office workers which was unsurprising given the office density around the area. The miso soup stock here is good as you can taste the sweetness of the soup and also salty aftertaste. The were only two slices of pork but it was quite large so no complaints on that as it was done well. continue reading

Tucked at one of the corner in Wisma Cosway, stands this quaint and unique Japanese restaurant.Frankly speaking, am not aware of this eatery till it was introduced by my friend, which gets me hooked up till now. Hehe…..With its cozy ambience and warm environment, Ramen Ton Chan definitely makes a perfect place for gathering, be it with friends or even acquaintances alike.Without further ado, let’s feast on the sumptuous array of Japanese appetizers, snacks, donburi, ramen and many more items by this humble restaurant. Here, you can actually savor one of the most authentic Japanese Ramen in town at good bargain.First to join us is Yakisoba. Basically, it is stir-fried ramen with assorted vegetables and seafood. At first glance, it reminds me of fried yee mee, but once you actually tasted it, you might wanna beg to differ, for, this simple-looking dish is smacking good! I would say one of the best in town compare to the one I had at Watami. You can find black fungus, carrot slices, cabbage, fish fillets and some leafy greens. They were all fresh and crunchy with the accompanied myriad of seafood. Darn loving it! Next would be Chicken Teriyaki Ramen.I guess this would be something more oomph than the usual ubiquitous Miso Ramen, hehe…. Just my two-cents One thing that thrilled me instantly was that, lots of scallions were added to the soupy dish on top of the grilled chicken fillet. Simply because this minor garnisher, would further enhance the aroma of the original dish, plus, I love vege! ^_^In addition, the teriyaki chicken was nicely grilled and marinated to perfection. Noodles were springy and not soggy. To clear the throat, you may enjoy their free flow of Green Tea while catching up on each friend’s current updates. ^^ Some side dishes, perhaps? ^^Apart from these, you may also choose to try Chasu Ramen, Yakisoba or even Hiyashi Chuka.Ooishi-desne!! continue reading

I have a thing on Japanese and Korean food as always. This time, my friend introduced me with another restaurant with nice environment, comfy sofas and well-facilitated with hundreds of comics and free Wi-Fi.I thought this type of traditional Japanese look is kinda rare nowadays. With such a nice ambience, I think I have better appetite to dine there. It looks red but isn’t spicy because those red slice thingy are Japanese gingers. The pork slice is the best ingredient here. Simply delicious and not so meaty or not too thin too. continue reading

Ton Chan is one of my favorite Japanese Ramen Restaurant. It is located inside Wisma Cosway.Their ramen is good! They have hand-roll or machine-roll ramen. They serve their marukyu with fresh cucumber. I love their marukyu, doesn't taste awful like the other places. Now I know why sinchan love marukyu! =pTheir gyoza is very good too. a bit crispy on the outside and tender & juice inside. This is my favorite! I asked for less spicy.I remember I have this for the first time on a rainy/cold night, fee so warm after having this!I love lots of cabbage with the spicy kimuchi soup! It comes with tofu and pork slices too.The waitress told me many Japanese love to order this too when they come to ton chan. This is one of their signature ramen, the soup is good!My friend's favorite is Kakuni Ramen, you shall try that too~RM10 is kinda expensive but we always order this because it is homemade ice cream with special red bean paste. It might not be in the menu but u can directly order from the waitress. The red bean paste here taste salty, but when you combine it with the green tea ice cream, they taste good together! more photos: http://mystyl3mylif3.blogspot.com/2010/10/ramen-tonchan.html continue reading
