We rarely can find a family dining Chinese restaurant inSetapak area. I noticed there is a new opening restaurant at the same placedwhere De Asian Café used to be there which has been closed down since July. Coincidence, theowner of previous De Asian Cafe invited us to visit their newly opened Restaurant . They renamed this placeas Restaurant TST & AT. They have placed a bigger kitchen outside and expand the area to accommodate more seats at the outdoor space.Mr. Ong greet us with warm welcome and as well asthe friendly staff who are still the same person working there giving us a bigsmile. We used to be the regular customer here enjoying the nasi lemak andcoffee at their previous café especially my mum in law, so she know all thestaff here very well.Restaurant TST & AT stands for “ Tin Siong Tin” & “AhTau” (the wording I translate from Chinese word). It is simplifies in the alphabet that forms : TST & AT. Mr. Ong shared with me that he owns three restaurant and the main branch he initially set up is at the Klang branch. A.T is the bakkut teh branch that are very popular and have a history of 8 years of establishment. Being a chef himself, he assured all the ingredients used are fresh and create his own recipes to give customer a pure Chinese comfort food. He combine both TST Seafood and AT Bak Kut Teh together since 2014 and get a very good feedback from customers that they can try more varieties in one restaurant. Diners get to experience awesome Chinese Culinary with both favourites of seafood and bak kut teh.The restaurant wasmerely a 5 minutes drive from where I live in. It was raining at this hour, so we park our car at the basement parking that charged us RM 2.20. The basement parking is quiet , so not advisable if you are driving alone. But it was raining quite heavy, so we have no choice but to park our car there and take up the staircase reaching directly to the Restaurant entrance. The interior is simple and you can choose to sit inside with air conditioning place or covered outdoor seats.Clean and comfortable place to dine in with friends and family especially during weekendsAmple of space cater for big groups of peopleChinese specialties prepared with the finest and freshest seafood supplies. The seafood are deliver fresh daily and you can get to enjoy Bak Kut Teh from Morning until night time. Three choices of bak kut teh available here with Seafood Bak Kut Teh, Claypot Bak Kut Teh and Dry version of the Bak Kut TehSet meal for one person servings are also available here with reasonable priceSignatures dishes that are being recommended. Seafood such as crabs and fish are based on the market price. They also have " Pun Choi " ( big bowl feast with lots of seafood and meats) with early reservation needed. Usually Chinese love to have this for Chinese New Year. Perhaps I can consider this place to try it next year for our Chinese New Year celebration.Chinese tea is a must when dining out with my familyYou can expect a fast and efficient service here.We kick start with the Claypot Bak Kut Teh (serving of two person). Strong and intense broth with fragrance of pork. It does have the natural sweetness of pork flavor .The broth is concentrated and the herbs taste is not overpowering. Generous portion of the tender pork served with mushroom and fu chok. Best to have it with lots of garlic and dark soy sauce along with a hot bowl of rice.Next, we try the dry version of Bak Kut Teh served in the claypot. It has a tangier, sharper taste compared to the normal Bak Kut Teh. The dried chilli which seems like the "kung pou" taste helps to enhance the flavour of the bak kut teh. Slightly spicy along with the succulent pork meat.Bitter gourd is always the best vegetables for healthy purpose. It has a good source of vitamins and minerals that your body needs. I love the idea to stir fried it with salted egg yolk. I must confess that this dish turns out really tasty!Butter Crispy Red Tilapia with cucumber. The red Tilapia fish is a winner dish and pretty awesome at a glance on how they presented it to us. The fish meat is finely sliced and fried to perfection. Boneless and crispy fish meat to savour with the sourish cucumber+onions and little saltiness taste from the butter .The whole combination has the unique flavour, the oomph surfaces in your mouth when you mix it all together.Famous Spicy Seafood Claypot - This was highly recommended and the best seller. The full-of-flavour seafood curry is a definitely must have, When it was served on our table, the curry broth is bubble up in the steaming claypot and loaded with fresh seafood ingredients - crabs, prawns, squids, fish, cuttlefish and fu chok. The curry was flavoursome and not too spicy. This dish really caught my attention and worth for the price of RM 60, you really get the charitable amounts of seafoods that you are actually expecting for it.Large size of the crabs and with fresh fleshBraised pork belly that have the perfect layer of fat in between.Well Known restaurant that has been featured in newspaper and also TV ShowThe mouth watering menu really makes me want to try out more dish from their menu. Pleasant dining environment and food are reasonably priced. Looking forward to bring my parents along on my next visit.Restaurant TST & ATNo. 22A, Jalan Danau NiagaTaman Danau Kota53300 Genting Kelang SetapakKuala LumpurTel : 03-4131 5579 Other outlets :No. 19 & 21, Lorong Batu Nilam 21C,Bandar Bukit Tinggi 2,41200 Klang SelangorTel : 03-3326 2356No. 60-G, Jalan 1, Taman Lensen, 56000 Kuala LumpurTel : 03-9545 4299Opening Hours: 10am to 2.30pm, 5pm to 11pmFacebook : https://www.facebook.com/pages/Restaurant-TST-AT/1449319785396564?sk=timeline continue reading
