I've probably said this a million times before and I'll say it again; Thai food is one of the best food there ever will be. The flavours are always out of this world and although spicy, there's always an added kick which brings a nice surprise. We discovered Songkhla by accident really. After craving for something spicy for a long time, we attemtped to try a restaurant that was completely new in hopes to be pleasantly surprised. And we were, very much so, which is why we will always go back to this restaurant for the same things. As always, a must order whenever we're at a Thai restaurant is the Mango Kerabu Salad. One way to tell if the restaurant is going to be a great one is by how well their salad is and this, was fantastic! They were not stingy in any way. There was plenty of peanuts and dried baby shrimp for crunch & also added flavour. Plus the dish as a whole had a great kick of spiciness and sourness as well. A great start to our meal. So for the main dishes, we ordered the Steamed Siakap with Chillies, Garlic and Lime sauce. This was amaaaaazing! The dish came in a steel dish and served over blazing hot charcoals, so this way the sauce remains hot even as we dine. Every spoonful of the 'soup' had a great punch of spicy, garlicky and sour flavours that explodes in your mouth. Plus the fish was incredibly fresh as the meat was nicely juicy and also tender. One can never go wrong with this dish and Songkhla did an amazing job.Something that had come recommended by the waiter is their Chiang Mai Curry Chicken. Truly it was one of the best dishes I've tried from this restaurant because of how fragrant the curry is. Plus the sauce is incredibly thick and creamy from what I presume to be the coconut milk which adds a whole new depth of flavour. The chicken meat is incredibly tender too. It's crispy from being deep bried before it is tossed into the curry where the exterior just soaks up all the sauce and infuse maximum flavour in each bite. This is a must try if anyone ever visits Songkhla because each time we ordred this, it is as good as the first time we tried it! One of our favourite to order is also the Stir-Fried Paku in Belacan. To no surprise that Songkhla cooked this to our preference too. But in comparison to the other three dishes, this was only so so even if the belacan flavour was strong. This is one of our favourite Thai restaurants to visit regularly because the price is also reasonable with generous portions. Go, give them a try! :3 continue reading

Nice Thai authentic foods... Good service and price are reasonable.. Value of money. Good enviroment.Thai Food is internationally famous. Whether chili-hot or comparatively bland, harmony is the guiding principle behind each dish. Thai cuisine is essentially a marriage of centuries-old Eastern and Western influences harmoniously combined into something uniquely Thai. The characteristics of Thai food.Thai were very adapt at 'Siamese-icing' foreign cooking methods, and substituting ingredients. T...he ghee used in Indian cooking was replaced by coconut oil, and coconut milk substituted for other daily products. Overpowering pure spices were toned down and enhanced by fresh herbs such as lemon grass and galangal. Eventually, fewer and less spices were used in Thai curries, while the use of fresh herbs increased. it is generally acknowledged that Thai curries burn intensely, but briefly, whereas other curries, with strong spices, burn for longer periods. instead of serving dishes in courses, a Thai meal is served all at once, permitting dinners to enjoy complementary combinations of different taste. continue reading
