The closest thing right now to a contemporary-minded cafe in Sri Petaling, right down to its everything-old-is-cool-again embrace of vintage artefacts like a used sewing machine & transistor radioOven-baked pork bolognese spaghetti with cheese & sausages. Decent for a dish that's mainly built with processed food.Blueberry & Oreo cheesecakes in the chiller, but maybe not this time.Caffe Musetti Grand Cru Blend, 100 percent Arabica beans. I felt as though I was in another land and era, the moment I opened the glass door into Kitakami. I was basically spellbound by the ambience, interior, decor that transported me to the period of 1940s. Since I was hungry, I eagerly went to the counter and ordered a Hazelnut Cappuccino (RM 9.90) and a plain croissant (RM 4.90) whereas my friend ordered a flat white (About RM 8 or 9) and a Ham and Cheese Club Sandwich (RM 8.90). While waiting for my food to arrive, I immediately went on a camwhoring frenzy, at every corner of the cafe. I totally love the cappuccino compared to the ones sold at other commercial high-class coffee shops. There was even a flower drawn on top of the foam using chocolate! Totally love it so much! Of course every cup and sip of coffee taken here has a better taste due to the ambience and cosy environment. My friend's flat white is not bad though he said it is not as tasty and fragrant as cappuccino but I think it is alright. The Mushroom Soup (RM 5.90) was a delight as the chunks of mushrooms were evident. In addition, I can detect they are not the normal button mushrooms but those foreign mushrooms cut into small pieces. Simply delectable when eaten with the plain croissants. The Ham and Cheese club sandwiches which came last were amazing. They were delicately cut and not overburnt when toasted. There was also thousand island instead of creamy mayonnaise which I hated. They even brought us a tall glass of plain water with a slice of lemon which added the tinge and made plain water taste better! I am so excited to bring my BFF here since I know she and I are in love with vintage. continue reading
