As my brother-in-law knows that my father likes fish head, he decides to bring the family to dine here for lunch. The restaurant is located under trees, with no frills decoration around. Just very used tables and stools around. Interesting it is surrounding by rows of terrace houses. It is not located by the main street, yet there is a lot of people dining in there.Although we reach the restaurant around 1pm, a number of dishes such as the Steam Herbal Coconut Chicken Soup have already sold out. The place has no air-con. To refill tea, one has help yourself to the hot water cooler, which is located in the middle of the place.Menu is a simple 2-sided paper.Cheong Cheng Steam Fish HeadThe sauce tastes a bit spicy and reminds me of bean paste. The fish is quite meaty and juicy. Never expect such a big fish head for small serving.Soya Sauce Steam Fish HeadSimilar to the above dish, the fish is meaty and juicy. The sauce here is much lighter.Crispy Chicken WingVery crispy and juicy inside.Salted Fish with Pork Belly in ClaypotThe meat is flavourful but fatty.Sweet Potato LeafI feel that it is a bit too oily.Overall the food is huge in serving and tastes great. But waiting could be long. The service is also a bit sucks here. One of the dishes which we have ordered but is never served, even after we have finished the fruit. But the staff has billed us for the dish when we ask for the bill. It is quite difficult to get the staff to correct the bill and lot of time being wasted. It leaves quite a bad taste in the mouth. continue reading
