The curry laksa in Ming Yang Restaurant is quite delicious. The noodles are well done, not too soft, while the curry gravy is flavourful. The santan and chilli combination is just right. There were plenty of ingredients as well. There was my favourite pig skin, tau pok, chicken chunks, long beans, and most importantly, cockles. Priced at RM5 per bowl, it was definitely well worth the amount paid. continue reading

There is a stall selling vietnamese food in this coffee shop. The dish i ordered was the vietnamese deep fried chicken in lemon grass with rice. The rice also comes with a pan fried egg , some cucumber and tomatoes. I love the deep fried chicken, it was slightly oily, but well spiced. The flavorful chicken was also very tender and quite a big piece. Love that i was served chicken thigh instead of chicken breast. continue reading

continue reading

I made my way to Ming Yang again after work. I wanted to eat the claypot yee mee but this time, I was enticed by the pungent fragrance of fried chicken at an outside stall. So I went towards the source of the smell. And I reach a stall called Nasi Lemak Kukus Iskandar. Apparently the chicken is cooked with ginger. He was working alone, manning he store, serving food, preparing and cooking. Yes the frying was done there so I can be guaranteed of the freshness. He uses ginger in his marination/cooking method. It's one of the Malay styled nasi lemak that I love. Together with the chicken are slices of cucumber, an egg, lotsa sambal and peanuts. It's an awesome combination! And have I mentioned about the sambal? I love the spiciness of the sambal! Its those type thats spicy the moment you put in your mouth but does not linger. And the amount he gave was enough for me I get to choose my chicken but all the thigh parts were gone but even the breast taste good too. It's very nicely marinated with whatever it was and ginger. The smell and taste of it is there but not strong, which is something that I can tolerate. The rice is fragrant and soft but not too lemak. It just smells nice and together with the sambal, it's the perfect fusion for the evening. And have I mentioned that all these only cost a mere RM4.50? continue reading
