This Japanese restaurant has been in business here for more than 10 years, owned by Japanese and also frequently patronized by Japanese customers who worked and stayed around Subang Jaya areas. All the dishes are well prepared and fresh, they are steamy hot and tasty, try that yourself and verify my judgement. It is possibly one of the best authentic Japanese restaurant that you can visit often whenever you wants to satisfy your appetite. continue reading

We run out of Japanese places to eat! OH NO!!!He came to rescue and brought me to this place called Sakura Sakura even though we were having some conflict at the moment. I guess I am the world's luckiest girl! This place is brimming with Japanese and locals alike. Many Japanese frequent the Japanese restaurants in this areas that are opened and operated by Japanese.Appetizer was mashed potato . I wonder why Japanese restaurants serve mashed potato as appetizer. Doesn't this make people too full to eat the next item? Luckily it is not too creamy like how others do this.Sashimi Set (RM 42) All the sashimi costs RM 80 and above so I didn't order those in order to save money. Luckily I found a cheaper version of Sashimi Set that even comes together with Japanese white rice, miso soup, a piece of watermelon and honeydew. The butterfish, salmon, tuna and prawn sashimi are very fresh and seems to melt in my mouth!Curry Nabe (RM 32) I thought my this is just a normal claypot stir fried pork slices but it turned out to be curry soup with chicken, cabbage, bean sprouts and cherry tomatoes! This is very appetizing for dinner.Details:Address: Sakura Sakura Japanese Restaurant, No. 4 & 4A, Jalan SS12/1B Subang Jaya SelangorTel: 03-5637 9185 continue reading

My first-time experience at Sakura Sakura today, 4th of July 2015, over lunch was completely ruined by a supervisor who treated my friend and I rather poorly. She was unsmiling, rude and acts as if she does not want us to be there. Since the restaurant closes at 230pm, her gestures and attitude indicated that she clearly wants us out. We both ordered the curry rice which is best described as very watery with few small miserable hunks of beef and chicken. The presentation is pathetic, completely unbefitting of the ambience and other dishes displayed by the other reviews here. It was not the type of Japanese curry rice served. Due to the poor treatment and attitude by the supervisor nonetheless, the sakuras in Japan will turn blue when I ever patronize this outlet again. IT would not havee been so  disappointing if it were not for the supervisor's treatment and demeanour. I would say, the food would have been bearable. I hope that Sakura Sakura managers looked into this and at best, teach this supervisor some MANNERS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!  continue reading

Mashed potato salad with sliced pork. Not as comfort foodish as we had expected. The potatoes could have been creamier and the pork less bland. Omelet with mentaiko & cheese. The pollock roe left little impression. Tasted like an ordinary omelet _ not necessarily a bad thing though. Tofu prepared Hakata-style (we assume this refers to Hakata in Fukuoka). A wholesome broth. It's mostly fuss-free cooking at this outlet. Inaniwa udon. Not as pleasurably slippery as usual. Strangely sticky, in fact. Yellowtail jaw. Good but not great; you'll find fresher, more succulent versions elsewhere, including Xenri and Kampachi (though those places charge more). Fish sausage. Had the texture of chicken sausage, but tasted less flavorsome. continue reading
