Jombali seems to like to locate themselves at hypermarkets. I went to one at Tesco Puchong and was pretty surprised to come across yet another one at Carrefour (now AEON Big) Subang Jaya. Nope, they don't sell Balinese food. It's more like local Malay fusion dishes. Fusion because they tried to incorporate in Chinese & Western flavors/cooking. But sadly they don't taste that great. Not terrible but not good. Rather salty, even. And the chicken meat's rather tough.. Hmm.. didn't really pleased me. continue reading

Jombali serving set lunch during weekdays from 11.00am to 3.00pm. At the price of RM10.90 you get a main dish and a glass of drink.Today i ate the Kantonis Fried Sang Mee. It actually looks nice when served, which comes with fish paste, sliced chicken, prawns, sotong and green vege. The noodles are not still very crunchy although after soaking in the hot gravy for some time. Disappointed me again, the gravy is almost tasteless. We had to add on black soy sauce to enhance the flavour. Not to mention other ingredients, the prawns itself taste very artificial. It's almost transparent and no natural sweet taste at all besides crunchy. Got a free drink with a nice name of Firewood Roaste Ice Coffee. Tasted just like normal ice coffee but at least better than the expectation of the noodle. continue reading
