How do I begin to describe my love affair Prawn Mee @ Factory Food Court? The prawn mees that I have taken so far all had soups that were really salty and gave you that impression that lots of MSG was used. This one is different. This one had an unique taste which I initially could not identify. I just knew that is was a spectacularly pleasing taste and it wasn't predominantly MSG. It was one of those flavours that you really can't put your finger on, but you know that you have tasted it before and really enjoy it.ConclusionWe have a winner! This prawn mee soup stands one head above the rest because of that unique taste. I have been thinking about it everyday since I ate it last week and even made a trip back this week. The best prawn mee in town!!!  continue reading

Came by recently for a quick lunch as I was rushing. I ordered the Thai Fried Rice, and luckily it did not take long to arrive. I find that the Thai fried rice here is a little too oily and maybe this caused the rice to be not very fluffy. This dish has a minimal amount of ingredients, and they only give some vegetables, a few pieces of sliced chicken, chopped long beans and chilli. The rice has a little sourish taste and it is very spicy as well.I do not really like this dish, and will not order again. continue reading

One of the few options for lunch would be Factory Food Court at USJ 1. As I was rushing for time, The Loh Mee stall is a good bet that the food will arrive fast.Within 5 minutes, a piping hot bowl of Loh Mee arrives. For a large bowl of Loh Mee the price was reasonable and the size did not disappoint. The Loh Mee gravy is quite thick and although it tastes a little too bland for my liking. The noodles are smooth and soft to the bite. It comes with a quarter of a boiled egg, minced steam chicken with a healthy dose of bean sprouts. I did not enjoy the fried onion that much as it was too chewy, indicating that it is not fresh anymore.Nothing special about this Loh Mee, except for the quick service. continue reading

Factory food court is one of my frequent lunch eats and here I am again choosing my selection of hawker stall food. The kolo mee caught my eyes as I see a few black bowls here and there on the table. I ordered a big one and it came within minutes. The noodles were supple with the right amount of grease. It tasted pretty good together with sliced bbq pork. Normally kolo mee comes with minced meat but this one comes with diced meat which brings a chunkier mouthful. Kinda like the difference! Good food to fill my stomach for lunch. continue reading
