Me and my boyfriend went SS2 to photostat some stuff in the morning as it is easier to get car parking in the morning compare to the afternoon. We decided to have lunch at Win Soon Cafe as our car is parked directly opposite to the cafe and it is crowded with people. So it just attracted me to try it out. Win Soon Cafe is located at SS2. It was crowded when we arrived so we find our own place to seat and waited few minutes to get our menu. After going through the menu, we ordered Fish Head Meehoon and Tom Yam Fish Paste. You have to write your own order on the order sheet and pass it to the staff. The ambiance of the cafe was like an old Kopitiam environment. Tom Yam Fish Paste was delicious. It has a nice Tom Yum flavour and a good spicy kick in the soup. My Boyfreind Loved it. When I try this I have already fix in my mind that I should bring my sister here to try this as I am pretty sure she gonna loved it. Tom Yam Fish Paste @ RM 11.90 Fish Head Meehoon was simply delicious. There is a generous amount of fish chunks in the noodle bowl. It was light and a comforting bowl of noodles. Fish Head Meehoon @ RM 11.90It was a good lunch for us. Service was a bit slow as it was crowded with people for lunch and it is quite difficult to get their attentions. 1 Bowl of noodles is more than enough for me and I was full by the time I finished half of the bowl so I feel it was just wasted. Maybe I should order 1 bowl of noodle and order other side dishes to share when I go with my sister next round to avoid food wastage. I do not why my colleagues like to eat fish head bihun at Win Soon cafe at SS2 PJ especially since it is always difficult to get parking there but I just followed the crowd. So today I went there with my colleagues again.Three of us each ordered a Fish Head Bihun - normal (RM 9.50). I think the price is quite hefty for a bowl of simple fish head bihun which usually costs only RM 7-8 at other cafes. Since I have tried their normal bihun, I opted for Tom Yam Flavour but this did not come with salted vegetables which I like. The Tom Yam is just so-so. My colleague said Tom Yam always taste better with seafood but I am ok with anything. The soup is quite thick and amazingly, I actually finished half of it.But I do like the sambal belacan here, though quite watery compared to the one in Penang. The side orders here are not that great but expensive so I advised my colleagues not to order them. I guess the winner is the Apple Tea (RM 3) which though when it first came with a tea bag, I was disappointed as I expected it to be cooked like tong sui, tasting it proved otherwise. continue reading

Good fish head meehoon. Was introduced here by my housemate. From the outlook dont have much expectation. But then after tasting, I love the fact that there is no "MUD" taste of the fried fish head. Most of the so called famous fish head noodles has the "mud" taste, which is quite irritating.Highly recommended if you are a fish head noodle fan but dislike the mud taste. continue reading

continue reading

Don had to settle something regarding his convocation at The Otomotif College on that day, so we headed to SS 2 quite early in the morning. I could recall both of us searching around the area to decide on a place for breakfast. We were quite indecisive, because many restaurants were still closed or they did not operate on that day. So we ended up at Win Soon Cafe.We shared a cup of Hot White Coffee at RM3.00. My mum could make one of her own at much lower price. It tasted just like 3-in-1 coffee, but highly priced.I had Fish Head Meehoon at RM9.50, simply because I would always go for the most original version for its taste. Guess what? It tasted like an overpriced bowl of noodles with fried fish. I could always have something similar at any other restaurants at around RM5.00!Don had their Fish Paste Sotong Ball and Fish Head Meehoon. I’m not sure about the ingredients, but the soup wasn’t even close to good. Meh!I will be sure not to return to this cafe ever again, and surely, I wouldn’t even want to recommend this restaurant to anyone at all. Huge disappointment! continue reading
