Botanical's version of gado-gado comprised tempeh, tofu, cucumber, jicama (Mexican yam/turnip), carrots, cabbage, long beans, kangkung, bean sprouts (taugeh), nasi himpit, hard boiled egg, and peanut sauce. Really wholesome and high-fibre, but I found it quite bland. The peanut sauce is supposed to be spicy but it wasn't. Overall, the dish lacked any sweetness, saltiness, or sourness. I guess maybe this is a bit too healthy... and tasteless. continue reading

Botanical Restaurant is located at Jalan Telawi Satu. The staff working there are very polite and helpful. One of the thing attracted me is that the food are creative and delicious. It is different compared to normal vegetarian restaurant. I had tried Salt And Chilli Tofu Tempura served by Botanical Restaurant. It is very delicious. It is perfect to eat Salt And Chilli Tofu Tempura with Thai Chili Sauce. continue reading

For this I didn't quite catch the name of it, hence I named it the Sugary Cream Puff. But I could have just name it Awful Cream Puff. It was indeed awful on many levels. First, it was coated with sugar. I mean okay, fine, still edible. We poked it a little, then tore it a little to get a glimpse of how it looked like inside. And what it was was some unidentified cream stuff. Eww, it tasted horrible so we ended up not eating that. continue reading

This is a new restaurant here. Well at least it is quite new to me. If not mistaken, it was T forty Two before this. I passed by and tempted by the mille crepe they displayed. I made my worst decision on that day. The cake is served with ice cream, I wonder why their ice cream took so long time only melt. That is good thing. But the mille crepe cake here isn't worth a penny. The cake is so hard and you cant really fell the texture at all. continue reading

Returning to The BIG Group's Botanical for more meatless mania. Hungry customers, fear not: vegetarian meals can be both filling and fulfilling ... as well as egg to elevate the ensemble of milkier-than-mashed-potatoes polenta, portobello mushrooms and parmagiano reggiano. Creamy comfort food at its most irresistible. Fruit-filled desserts are where Botanical shines (exceedingly uncommon for a vegetarian eatery). Folks jaded with creme brulee, tiramisu and creativity-shorn cakes can have their taste buds perked up by pineapple grilled with thyme-infused honey and pepper-encrusted mascarpone (!). On paper, the chilled strawberry fruit soup with pink peppercorn ice cream and toasted buttercake croutons sounds too strange to fathom. On the plate, it tastes too terrific to forgo. Banana splits can't get more fun than this three-flavor ice cream combo of roasted banana, chocolate and raspberry with chocolate-dipped bananas. Impossible to share! Bonus ice cream treat! Not available at Botanical, but it's worth scouting for The Last Polka's latest flavor, Pandan Kaya _ more pandan than kaya, which might make some happy. We prefer its aromatic, naturalistic taste to the powdery soy chocolate, but not as much as the cinnamon-savory French toast flavor. Insanely Luscious: chamomile-infused vodka, limoncello, elderflower cordial, pickled pears. Licorne Bio organic beer, very, very easy to drink. continue reading
