The chicken mushroom oyaki did not turn out as great as the tuna oyaki that I have tried. The mushroom chicken oyaki is slightly dry on the inside, causing the texture when biting into it slightly unpleasant. Also, it lack mushroom flavour and aroma. continue reading

Deep Fried Custard CreamAnother variation from the usual custard bun has been added to the shelves; Deep Fried Custard Cream.This new way of preparing the pastry has added some texture to it, where the outer layer is a bit crispy but still soft. well it's called a pie but it's made out of puff pastrythe rectangle pie was on the dark brown side and a bit burnt at the edgesi am not sure if the baker did it on purpose or accidentally left the pie in the oven for too longthe chicken and mushroom filling are mashed together to create the consistency of mashed potatoesyou can cleary taste the mushrooms at every bite continue reading

The loaf really have a nice environment to hang out during tea time.Pick up two of their bakery offering one which is full of melty chocolate (picture from the left) and the other is banana chocolate bun.The melty chocolate is my favourite where the chocolate taste very rich and the portion is quite large. While the banana chocolate bun taste not so fresh and the chocolate in it taste different with the other one. continue reading

This is the Cheesy Ebi which I stumbled upon one day while purchasing breakfast at The Loaf. Feeling adventurous I bought one to try. The bread looks harmless on the outside but when I bite into I was surprised. Somehow the cheese mixed well with the fresh prawn and it tasted weird to me. I am not the type of person who enjoys seafood early in the morning so I was quite surprised with the bread. The prawn was still bouncy and juicy and it was still warm as cheese oozes out. continue reading
