imberley Street(仙头街), a memorable 500meter long street pack with hawker stalls and kopitiam. Koap Chiap is one of the very famous hawkers here which selling for almost 30 years. It located just on the road side; you can’t miss the always crowded hawker stall. Due to the fact that only few table available it was quite hard to get an empty table but you may sit opposite and have them deliver to you.Read more: http://www.tasteiest.com/2010/07/kimberley-street-koap-chiap-2.html#ixzz30nWJ2he5Duck Koay Chiap RM6(Big), Duck Meat, Duck Blood, Pig Ear, Pig Intestines and Stewed Egg covering the whole bowl of Koay Chiap and that just cost RM6.Koay Chiap is made of flour, thin layer of flour cook and cut into small pieces, producing a soft and smooth Koay Chiap, texture like Koay Teow but thicker and size different.Duck Meat, Blood, Pig Ear and Intestines is very fresh and absorbing the strong herbal soup, personally I like the Pig Ear very much as it very delicious while the “tiny” pieces of duck meat will be better if it will to be cut bigger slice.Stewed Egg is really good and full of herbal taste.Soup is really delicious and the right level of herbal taste make it perfect to even drink all, mix with Chili Paste is another best alternative to enrich the soup with spiciness and sourness.Read more: http://www.tasteiest.com/2010/07/kimberley-street-koap-chiap-2.html#ixzz30nWLSXK2 continue reading

Kimberly Street Koay Chap serves one of the best Koay Chap in Penang. I have been eating in this shop since child. Duck Koay Chap served with duck meat, duck blood, pig ear, and pig intestines.Koay Chap is broad rice noodles with braised meats and innards. Koay Chap is similar to kuey teow but it is thicker. When eaten with the braised meats and innards, it is simply divine and scrumptious. The meats and innards are so tender and fresh complemented by the herbal soup. The price is very reasonable. continue reading

The pig blood is also served in quite a large portion. The pig blood is really juicy and chewy too. Some of you may feel disgusted with the blood but many elder people really like this kind of dish. continue reading

Kimberly Street is one of the famous street in Penang, with varieties of street food available along the street at night time. Koay Chiap, char koay teow, tong shui and koay teow theng is said to be the Famous Four in Kimberly Street, and of course we will not loose the chance of having them when we went to Penang. Since we were already quite stuffed when we were there at night, we ordered only kaoy chiap.Koay ChiapThe koay chiap came in a large bowl, with rectangular cut rice noodles (koay chiap), shredded duck meat, coagulated pig blood, offals, braised pork slices, and halved braised egg. The soup base was delicate, enriched with herbs and spices that were not overpowered. Sipping down the piping hot soup was a full comfort, even though the place was slightly hot. continue reading
