continue reading

Angus House Japanese Charcoal Steak is very popular with their signature Tenderloin steak. To be on the safe side, we proceed to order the Black Angus Tenderloin set menu. The set comes with the main course- 300gm medium rare black Angus Tenderlion steak, appetizer, soup and dessert for the price of RM 157.00. It is quite expensive compare to what I normally had for dinner. The Black Angus Tenderloin steak itself was very good. It was really tender and cooked to perfection. The sauce that comes together really complements well with the meat. continue reading

Located poshly in Starhill Gallery, Angus House seems to be a mysterious fine dine place at first glance, so we do expect to burn some holes in our wallet the day we decided to walked-in. The restaurant is famous for its Japanese Western style grill, and they do have set lunches available on weekends that would make anyone feel pampered. To try out their in-house charcoal steak, we ordered the combo that comes with a full course meal:Starter - Homemade bun with butter. Great texture, crispy hot thin layer from the outside and tender inside!Appetizer - Grilled chicken cake with mashed potato.Steak Combo - combination of tenderlion steak and juicy grilled lamb served on a hot plate. Dessert - Creamy macha pudding with a touch of mint. continue reading

Angus House has moved from Pavilion to Starhill, occupying a quiet corner of the Explore Floor. If privacy is what you want, this place might please; we were its only customers on a weeknight. For better or worse, the menu at Angus House never seems to change; its steaks are as satisfyingly succulent as ever, though its prices will still burn that proverbial hole in the wallet. Three hundred grams of medium-rare tenderloin set us back by RM132++. Steaks come with fries. Beef & potatoes, a culinary pairing that might endure till the end of time. Our other favorite here is spaghetti, coated in a light cream with pollack roe & slivers of abalone. Subtly briny, every al dente strand is worth slurping & savoring. House-pouring Cabernet Merlot by the glass, for RM36++ each. Argh! continue reading
