A hot bowl of soup always preps the tummy nicely for the main dishes ahead. We had the Fish Paste Soup with Seaweed & Ginger (RM 15). This clear soup had a good dose of seaweed, carrots, egg, and other ingredients. Definitely a soup full of flavour, especially the "green" taste of seaweed (though, the flavour may perhaps be due to a small dose of Ajinomoto..? We're not too sure). I did like the homemade bouncy fish paste balls that came in the soup though. Good for a cold night, although if you're the kind that is sensitive to small amounts of MSG, then this soup is not your solution! continue reading

The restaurant is an air-conditioned environment and it is spacious.Spinach soup (Siong Tong Yin Choy). The soup was quite good and has some wine in it. Too bad that the portion was too small, the bowl that the waitress brought translated to 4 small bowls of soup only. I wanted more.Signature beancurd. I quite like the sprinkle meat on top, very crunchy. The beancurd was smooth.Two-style chicken. The right hand side version has been minced together with fish paste and I like it. The left hand side version has strong pepper taste which was to my liking.Signature pork ribs. We ordered 4 pieces and this was so-so only. continue reading

This was part of their Prosperity Set for Chinese New Year. "Yu Sang" with salmon fish (didn't manage the capture it in the shot). After dining here several times, I can say that the fish we had are always fresh, and the soy sauce is very yummy. Make sure you 'bathe' your fish in it. There is also a dish with abalone, Pacific clams and sea cucumber which I would recommend. You can actually taste the sweetness of each seafood. Dessert is always enjoyable; 'wo bang' is crispy outside without being too oily, steamed buns are fluffy and the soupy desserts are never too sweet. continue reading
