Early in the morning, M girlfriend and I were somehow craving for dim sum for breakfast but after we both have moved to Kota Damansara, we have no idea where to find any dim sum place around. So we decided to have our dim sum breakfast at Restoran Jin Xuan Hong Kong (Kota Damansara branch). This is what we have ordered. It's a lot just for breakfast actually.Steamed Spareribs RM4.50. Gf's favorite but it was just okay.Har Gaw (Prawn Dumpling) RM4.50/3pcs. The prawn is quite fresh but the skin is a little too thick though.Tasty Lo Mai Kai RM4.50/ My favorite, wasn't the best but edible.BBQ Pork Bun RM4.00/2pcs. I don't normally go for BBQ pork bun but this was pretty good and delicious.Siu Mai RM4.50/3pcs. Typical siu mai, the size wasn't too small but I think I had bigger ones in Jalan Ipoh.Shrimp Rice Roll RM4.80/plate. Not that good but at least can satisfy my cravings.Overall, it was a good breakfast. Although it might be slightly pricier than those normal coffee shops but it's more comfortable to eat in Jin Xuan since it's more chilling with air condition and it looks cleaner too. continue reading

One of the Restaurant Jin Xuan Hong Kong is located in Kota Damansara Jaya. Jin Xuan offers a wide variety of good and tasty dim sum where it can be categorised by Steam Dian, Steam Bao, Steam Rice Roll, Congee, Pan fried & Deep Fried and Baked. Their signature dishes are Home Made Siew Mai, Home Made BBQ Pork Buns, Har Gaw, Steamed Fish Ball and Golden Buns. The restaurant is air conditioned, and the environment is nice, clean and comfortable. It is furnished with marble topped kopitiam tables and wooden chairs. Their signature bao, which is the golden bun is really fantastic. The custard is inside will flow out once you bite it. The custard is really creamy and the bao texture is very smooth. The Steamed Soup Dumpling is simply amazing. You need to use the spoon provided to take the dumpling, just in case if the soup come out from the dumpling. The soup is very nice. The BBQ Pork Bun, Loh Mai Kai, and Siu Mai all are good. I also like the Thai Style Beancurd very much. The meat is wrapped by the beancurd and steam together with thai style sauce which made it very unique and delicious.Overall, I am satisfy with the dim sum here although the price is a bit expensive than other normal dim sum shop. But I think is worth the money for it's food quality and nice environment. continue reading

Wifey wanted something different, with the main ingredient being pork. The affable waiter suggested for us to try the steamed pork with spices. We agreed, and the dish came in a jiffy. The pork is nicely steamed, tender and juicy. There were some chilli bits as well as black beans in it to give it an extra tang. Priced at RM3.50, I thought it was slightly expensive for a small plate, but I guess it is still worth the amount paid. continue reading

Each of them were made of some minced meat and pieces of prawns with crunchy texture. But it tasted dry and lacked the juicy after-taste. Obviously, it was done on few days back, just re-heated then served to customer. The skin was way too thick while the filling had the same problem, free from juiciness. The filling was minced thinly till you barely identified. However, I love the smooth and slippery sheets with the just nicely sweet and salty soy sauce underneath. The congee was good, smooth and flavoursome with no added seasoning required. cold served, but still retain the crunchy batter coating. Anyway, the shrimp filling was dried out, even Mayonnaise dressing couldn't help any for better savoring.steamed dim sum was totally out of taste. Do not consider to order any unless you really crave on it! continue reading
