Gantetsu simply means stubborness in japanese. This restaurant is famous for its ramen. The chef is talented and have special style in cooking. Only soup have different variants such as Shio, Totkotsu, Shoyu and Miso. There are many curry and spicy variants also.It is a nice and yummy japanese restaurant. continue reading

We were going to watch the movie "Chappie" together at GSC One Utama so we went to somewhere near to eat. My male friend ordered the Hokkaido Char Siu Miso Value Set (RM 32) which came with 3 pieces of Gyoza. His had 3-4 giant slices of pork. I ordered the Spicy Kimchi Miso Ramen (Rm 27.90) which was so delicious. It was not overly salty like the ramen in Paradigm Mall. The soup is so amazing that I finished every single drop. I love the kimchi infused inside the soup and noodles. The portion is also quite big to justify the price.  continue reading

Not a fan of cucumber, I was very reluctant to try this appetizer ordered by my colleague. But I had taken a liking to it's presentation so I decided to try at least one piece. It was a mix of chopped cucumber with a small tea spoon on miso paste on top of it. The taste was a mix of crunchy, sweet Japanese cucumber with savoury, slightly sweet and pungeant miso paste. The combination was slightly weird and not something I've tasted before. It's not a bad thing and I wouldn't mind trying the next time. continue reading

Hokkaido Miso. The ramen came with black fungus, char su and spring onions. The miso broth was slightly salty and it was very rich. The charsu slices were quite strong of "pork smell", which I somehow do not prefer. The ramen was very springy and very smooth. The service was attentive as we were the only table that patron the restaurant so early. I think this shop is above average. continue reading

The mini char siew rice is part of the set lunchVery disappointed cause the rice doesn't feel or look like the japanese style rice which is small and roundedThe char siew gravy was also in sufficient so the dish on its own is very dryLuckily I had a mini ramen soup to wash down the riceIt doesn't taste at all like chinese char siew but just roasted pork slicesIt wasbgarnished with pickled radish and bean sprouts continue reading
