Him Heang is a shop that sells a wide variety of bakeries. It is located at 162A, Jalan Burmah, Penang, George Town.Tau Sar PneahTau Sar Pneah is a traditional Penang Biscuits. The skin is full of the fragrant of butter and is a little crispy. The tau sar fillings inside is sand like and is not so sweet and with a little salty taste. It is a great option for afternoon tea. The price is reasonable. continue reading

Him Heang Tau Sa PiaThis is my favourite ‘tau sa pia’ biscuit brand in Penang. I have been eating this since younger days during my very first visit and until now. This time round gotta thanks to my ‘Garfield’ friend who happen to be in town during the weekend on business trip, who brought along my favourite. YUmm…The biscuits are rounded in shape and very fresh indeed! You know it the moment you bite on it and you could feel the pastry skin is so fluffy and fragrant. They are made of wheat flour, sugar, green beans, fried onions, vegetables oil and salt. The filling which consists of finely minced green beans till bit of powdery form, is very smooth and addictive. It’s good that this time round I don’t see huge and annoying chunky traces of fried onions in it. So I truly enjoy it from the bottom of my heart. continue reading

I was told Penang's Beh Teh Saw or Hiong Piah is the best. After I tried this Him Heang's Beh Teh Saw, I totally agreed with the statement. Individually packaged, it was very convenient for me to just grab a packet and head to work. The outer layer of Beh Teh Saw was lovely, just like the Qing Tang Biscuits, which it shattered upon touch. I was super delighted by the fact. The filling was soft and sweet, just like other hiong piah, but just better in terms of texture. continue reading
