They say Penang is food lover's heaven and for the majority of my visit there this was very true. Staying in Batu Ferringhi we found ourselves the other side of the island whilst visiting the snake temple. Travelling with small kids we needed an air conditioned mall to take a break from the heat and humidity which is why we found ourselves in Queensbay mall. With limited time and two hungry kids I made a quick decision to have lunch at The Chicken Rice shop. There was available seating and plenty of clients so I thought it must have been ok. I was so wrong. Taking the very average tasting food aside the service was really really bad. The food took nearly 25 mins to come out. What were they doing at the back, plucking the feathers? Then when the food arrived I realised we didn't have any cutlery. After asking 2 staff members and 10 mins after the food arrived we received our cutlery. I don't think after 40+ years of eating out I recall this happening to me before. Are we meant to eat with our hands kampung style? Finally, after specifically asking for no breast meat...guess which part of the chicken I got? So fed up and hungry and short of time, we just ate and couldn't wait to get out of there. Chicken Rice shop is another place fr chicken rice.. but this chicken rice is said to high class chicken rice as the price is 2 times the price of the chicken rice in the local coffee shop as u will be paying for the environment haha.. I went there last week.. cause drolling around gurney plaza … dono wat to makan.. and at last make de decision of taking chicken rice.. The set come up to RM 13 ++ for a plate of chicken rice and a soup, a desert , a plate of tauge and a drink.. is consider ok lo.. but if u request drumstick RM 1 extra,. The price is kinda expensive and the taste is totally no QC.. hehe,, sometimes is nice and sometimes not .. haiz.. the taste is kinda not really fresh the chicken continue reading
