It was another feast for the stomach a couple of weeks back at Dorsett Grand Subang's Ramadhan Buffet. I had the opportunity to dine there, where scrumptious dishes were laid out in the buffet spread for our consumption. This round renowned celebrity chef Jaafar Onn and beautiful songstress Haiza were there as well. Kicking off with the breads and keropoks, it did get our mouth munching before we even started with the main dishes. I do love my keropoks, and once you get me started, it is hard to stop munching on those crispy delights. We had the Sup Ekor Berempah too, which went well with the breads. Various spices and sambals were used to bring out the flavours. They add both spice and taste to all the dishes, ensuring it has the perfect combination for our tastebuds. Spoilt for choices, I did enjoy the local Malaysian fares. Majority of the dishes offered were of the spicy variant, but that's fine with me because I love spicy food! The Rusuk Kambing Vindalo was done just nice, being tender and had just the amount of spices to bring out its tastiness. As for the Udang Masak Lemak Cili Padi, I was glad the prawns used were fresh, and did not have that fishy aftertaste. continue reading

At Grand Dorsett Hotel, this is my first time trying their buffet in the evening. It seems like their buffet spread has not many choices but the highlights of the evening are definitely a must-try! The gulai kawah is cooked with lots of aromatic coconut milk and it appears really thick and sweet for me. The potatoes have absorbed deeply in the flavors of curry. Best served with my favourite briyani rice. Some Chinese char kuey teow are served warm there, and it surprises me with its crunchy texture. Quite mild in salty, I added some rendang chicken to go with the noodle for better enjoyment. continue reading
