It was the perfect combination for a rainy Saturday. Steamy and piping hot soup to comfort the tummy.

Their signature broth is the coconut based broth where the name of the restaurant comes from, ‘Ye Zi’. According to the manager, 80% of the coconut based broth consist of coconut water making the soup too sweet which may not be acceptable to most Malaysians. Hence we ordered the imperial canton broth instead. At RM88, it includes half a chicken with cabbage and bacon.

And of course the food to not be missed, the pork slices, squid balls, noodles and eggs. We also ordered both their signature fish paste and coconut dumpling. We were quite impressed as they served the fish paste in a huge shell, considering the price tag RM18 it was quite worth the value. The coconut dumpling was quite interesting too. Coconut flesh and minced meat. Another surprise as it tastes pretty good.

They do serve their in-house Ye Zi dipping sauce as well. A combo of soy sauce, toasted ginger, lime and chilli padi. But some may give it a miss as not everyone is used to the taste of the toasted ginger.

Another plus point to note is the attentive staff at Ye Zi. They were doing quite a good job ensuring all our needs are met plus the awesome view of Bandar Utama, it was quite a pretty sight.

Some may find their price a little on the high side, but I guess once in a while is definitely worth it.

Before you step in this place, you know the price like (haha)Quite a luxurious design for a steambot place, located at roof top of First Avenue, I was thinking the food must be so good despite the price, and hence the crowd.

And I was right, despite being expensive, the service was awesome. The staff are very attentive, helpful, and their dishes are so fresh that you can really taste the difference!

We ordered the famous coconut based soup, apparently it was alright for me, but it will be too sweet for those elderly.

We order the famous 黑松露 balls, 桂枝丸, and some other that I couldn't remember. Don't give their dumplings a miss, that's my compulsory order by all means.

The special made sauce (soy sauce + ground ginger) makes everything tasty for a reason.

Oh, the fish noodle also THAT fresh that they literally squeeze it out to the soup on the spot.
