The Sour Plum drink was a refreshing & sourish respite from the savoury fried chicken.

Received a special voucher from OpenRice to go try out the Tom Yam and Black Pepper flavoured Large Fried Chicken at Hot Star outlet in Setia Walk Puchong. This outlet is located on the 4th floor at the Grand Shanghai area where this area is like a food court on its own. Hot Star outlet is clearly visible as it's facing the side of the escalator. There are so many banners, menus and posters all around the outlet. While waiting for my order I entertained myself to some photography of the advertisements banners and menu variety. Also a sign that says "No cutting services provided". Then I kept imagining how to eat this Large chicken...

My drinks came first which I was a Lil disappointed because I was suppose to get the Wintermelon instead but it was sold out so I had a sour plum and a herbal juice instead. The herbal juice is actually "cincau" minus the jelly.

There's a reason why the Tom Yam and Black Pepper actually matches well with Wintermelon tea because after taking hot spicy fried food, a refreshing cooling drink is always the best thirst quencher.

Here is the Tom Yam Large Fried Chicken. The chicken is definitely Large! Bigger than my face lolx... I give this 4 stars, it can be better if the Tom Yam paste is evenly spreaded out; There were a few paste cluttered together so it gets really really sour at some parts. I took mine original btw, I wanted to taste the real chicken with Tom Yam without any other chilli powder or white pepper powder seasoning.

This is the Black Pepper Large Fried Chicken. First of all, I love it! Secondly, the sauce gets kinda sticky so it gets messy eating this but worthwhile! 5 stars! I went original with this too, to my surprise it wasn't that pepperish kinda spicy. It tastes just perfect and the sauce was a Lil sweet but it blended well. Even my hubby love it!

AND both of the Large Fried Chicken were really crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Superb!
