This is a claypot style of vegetarian pork meat, the taste of this dish is like braised mushroom pork meat, the mushroom is tender and juicy, the vegetarian pork meat is made of flour and bean stuffs which they fried it and cook it together with sauce and mushroom. It taste like the real braised pork meat, the clay pot is to keep the dish warm, the sauce is very thick and very match to eat together with rice. It is not too salty and very filling too. Service here is quite slow, we waited some times for our dish and rice to be served.

Instead of the usual heavy and meaty Char Siew Pau, why not try substituting it with the vegetarian version once awhile? I guess it would be better as the stomach get to rest awhile with some light digestion when the meat is replaced alternatively. This mocked meat still taste good and quite near to its original meaty taste. It has been some weeks away since we last have a vegetarian dinner for a healthier lifestyle. And that is why, we see it as a good suggestion to have it today on a Sunday night, to prepare some rejuvenation before Monday comes. We end up with this Prosperity Pot after the initial Tom Yam Pot that we requested is not available. But that’s alright as this pot comes in pretty good shape and flavor too. It is a light vegetarian ragout that consists up gigantic Abalone mushroom, tender shitake mushroom, crisp broccoli, cauliflower, wilted Siu Pak Choy and some ‘fat choi’. All the ingredients are nicely stewed in the sweet broth that resembles the similar soup you would find in a bowl of Sar Hor Fun. Quite a nice pick.

While am checking out at the counter to pay bill, my visual sense is attracted by the array of bakeries that are sitting nicely on the side. It actually reminds me of the Cranberry Bread by The Loaf, and this, being a tough competitor indeed, although it is under vegetarian genre.

The bread is very soft, fluffy, and gently encasing the much portion of the cream cheese. You would also find some bites and traces of fresh cranberries too, which are bit sweet and thus pleasant. Basically, it is made of cream cheese as the main ingredients, followed by cranberry, gluten flour, brown sugar and salt. I would say it is very well done with generous portion especially on the cheese. Loving it!

I guess now this vegetarian shop has gone one level higher with another new creation of Oats Pork Chop of the West with Pu Er tea. It comes in a set of fries, fresh greens, salad, corn, and of course the main attraction of the day, Oats Pork Chop! Yes, you heard it right! Trust me, they taste equally delish in this case


Surprisingly, this innovative creation of the pork chop using oats as the main ingredient is brilliant and the best part is, you don’t even taste the oats at all. In fact, it is succulent on its own with the crispy layer on the outside. The side dishes like the broccoli is very crunchy too, with the refreshing salad that is doused with appropriate amount of dressing. Comes to my favourite item again; French Fries! In this case, they are fluffily satisfying and quick thickly cut. Apart from that, the rice is pretty special too. Where on earth have you heard of squid ink rice other than the usual pasta version? Give it a try and you won’t regret. Thumbs up for this creative fare! ^^
