Have you ever tried bacon with pancakes before? This is the place to be!!! I have never ever had pancakes like that before. Although I find the portion of the pancake a bit small, but hey, everything was spot on! How the egg yolks slim down the spinach and pancakes in between, with the bacon crisp crunch in your mouth. Down right best thing that ever happened. Chicken was a little tad dry but it tasted good none the less. Black and Gold design makes the place look really classy too.

So, another place that serves a "traditional western" breakfast that has pork. So far, all were mediocre at best. How does J&D fare? Better, but I can't say that it's awesome.Eggs were done right - cooked just enough that the yolk is silken and runny but just sliiiiiightly firmed up to the point that it keeps intact and isn't overeager to spill over all the plate.Sauteed mushrooms, standard fare that never goes wrong anywhere; and cooked-to-sweetness cherry tomatoes are staple and done right.Bac

Sauteed mushrooms, standard fare that never goes wrong anywhere; and cooked-to-sweetness cherry tomatoes are staple and done right.

Bacon tastes lovely, but a bit too dry. This is a common fault. Pork sausage was good but I was left wanting for more.

Zuchinni fitter was a nice touch, but maybe a bit too greasy.

I've always been a big fan of cottage pie and/or Shepherd's pie ever since the first time I was introduced to the very idea of it, and so, at every turn and every opportunity I get, I would try one... as long as it seemed promising.Having a good experience with the food at J&D so far, I decided to gamble on a cottage pie. It was PIPING HOT, and very, very tender. Flavourful to the max, and had plenty of potato, cheese, and beef.A repeat offense of J&D: serving size seemed too small for the price

J&D is a cafe that's particularly unabashed with their offerings of pork, such that they can't settle for calling their scotch eggs merely "scotch eggs", but had to prepend the name with "pork". Basically, this is a hard-boiled egg, wrapped in minced meat, and then coated in bread crumbs, then baked; though it feels more like it's fried. No complaints from me - this was served hot and steamy, with very tender pork meat and bouncy egg. A tad on the salty side, but not so much so that it warrants

I just don't think this is worth RM7, though. But it's good, really.

Is your idea of spaghetti carbonara one of cream sauce and beed bacon? If so, my friend, I'm afraid you have been a victim of both American and Malaysian bastardizations of dish too often defiled.Carbonara, in its purest form, has no cream at all. That's right! To my surprise, one of the better places to have this isn't in a fancy Italian restaurant, but a cosy little coffee place nestled in a quiet and almost unnoticed corner of Bandar Utama. Everything in this carbonara is the way it should be - al dente pasta; thick and rich sauce; and lashings of bacon - unadulterated by the notion of "beef bacon" (which is adulterous to say the least).

While the pricing of this dish isn't cheap for a little cafe, it's cheaper than its posh counterparts, and stands equal if not better. My only real complaint is that perhaps there's too much pasta for the bacon (or too little bacon for the pasta?).

Yes, I always need more pork.

The Aussie breakfast which is served with the 2 rashes of bacon, smoked garlic sausage, cherry tomatoes, balsamic, mushroom medley, 2 eggs done your way, potato croquette, baked beans and toasted bread. To complete the meal, I ordered the cafe latte while chatting along with my colleagues. There weren't much coffee aroma in the shop for a cafe with the name 'espresso' in it. So I didn't put much expectation with their coffee. The taste was alright. It's average in taste although nicely foamed. The milk was not strong enough and the coffee taste was just alright.

This is one of the most interesting chicken chop I've ever tasted. It felt like chicken cordon bleu with the insides spreaded out. The cheese was very cheesy and filling but goes well with the ham and chicken. Even without sauce it didn't feel dry, and I prefer it without the sweet and slightly spicy sauce. The portion was quite big and filling and the chips just made stuffed me to the brim!

I ordered the pork burger which came with it's famed chili relish. It was also served with thick chips and fresh garden salad. The pork was juicy, cheesy and meaty. The buns were a slight disappointment because they were a bit dry. I was unaware that there were beetroot served with the burger too as I'm not a fan, if not I wouldn't have ordered it.

J&D Espresso has links to Mont Kiara's now-defunct Ristretto; cappuccinos, cafe lattes, mochas & flat whites (RM5.90+ each) feature prominently on the menu.

Unlike Ristretto, wine's not available here, but customers can enjoy ice-cold beer with their pork.
