Daan taat is egg custard tart in cantonese. originally coming from Hong Kong as classic style egg tarts, they are very similar to the usual Portuguese egg custard tarts, but instead it comes with a stronger egg flavor. The crust can be flaky or shortbread-like. Clan dimsum's were quite different and slightly on the downside as teh crust wasn't flaky like Tong Kee's famous one at all. it tasted like normal thick pastry only. The egg fillings were quite evident, though.

The assorted fried dimsums in Clan Dim Sum Restaurant were very dissapointing they were cold and soggy and wasn't even tender or crispy. trying to cut them into smaller pieces were tough as well since the dim sums were hardened after leaving alone for a long period of time. we made a big mistake of ordering so many fried dimsums so in the end we couldn't finish them at all.

Lo baak gou is basically turnip cake itself. it consisted of shredded daikon radish and is mixed with rice flour. It has a distinctive taste as it is flavored with ham, sausage, shrimp, or other vegetables before being pressed into cakes and fried. Another type of beancurd dim sum, similar to the Beancurd with vegetable filling but aesthetically and taste different. It comes in a serving of 2 tubes and a lightly wrapped beancurd. It doesn't look as disgusting as the Beancurd with Vegetable filling but it tasted nearly the same. The beancurd was slightly soggy whilst the filling in the middle was just too boring. Overall, disliked it.

This could possibly be one of the famous dishes among dim sum lovers. Prawn dumplings made with silky, clear pastry wrap. I also remember the time when I was in Hong Kong, almost every table had this. Having said that, the quality of dim sum here isn't exactly as great. The skin was too sticky and it starts to stick to your teeth. The prawn filling wasn't as flavourful nor tempting as many others i've tried.

Another one of the many varieties available in Clan Dim Sum Restaurant is this plate of Steamed Beancurd with Vegetarian Filling. Beancurd can be executed in so many ways, mainly used as skins to wrap things up. The filling in the middle was pretty dull. It wasn't flavourful nor was it nice to chew. The beancurds were overly damp. Almost too damp to begin. Overall, I didn't liked it.

One of the many available variety was this plate of minced pork dumpling with egg yolk in the middle. I find it a little odd as this was my first time trying it. I was skeptical at first but then again, what the heck, I should at least give it a try. To begin, I hate the egg yolk on top. It was dry and sticky and it felt just like a mooncake's egg yolk. The dumpling wasn't fantastic either, pretty mediocre.

Dim sum is a great way to start the weekend. Friends and family could come together and enjoy variety of different dishes in one restaurant. This plate of Fried Yam Pastry however, wasn't as good as I'd expected it was. The crust wasn't crispy enough and it melted too quickly. The yam filling wasn't as flavourful or moist as I expected it to be. It was dry and sticky.

Not my number one choice in a dim sum but I do fancy it sometimes, just to fill the tummy. A fried carrot cake should be crispy and light externally and soft and smooth internally. It also shouldn't be too oily or else it would be extremely disgusting. This fried carrot cake was rather bland. It had no distinguishable flavour nor texture. The skin was soft, perhaps due to the time it was placed in a steamer. Overall, it was quite bad.

I love eggplant and I dare say that I'm bias to almost all eggplant-type dishes. The first thing that I'd expect from an eggplant is the flavour and texture. It has to be smooth yet soft, but not overly soft. This plate of eggplant was pretty normal/decent. It has very simple and straight forwarded flavour. Nothing too complicated. However, it was a little dry and I had to dip a lot of sauce with it.

A plate serving 2 individual egg tarts in a pretty tiny size. At first sight, the egg tarts looked amazing. After having my first bite, it was nightmare. The pastry was soggy and dense. The egg wasn't smooth nor flavourful enough. To make matters worst, The egg and pastry felt very seperated. You could actually see gaps between the egg and the pastry itself. A good piece of egg tarts should have the eggs and pastry complimenting each other.

Possible one of the worst popiah I've eaten anywhere in Malaysia. I used to think the one in Sunway Pyramid was bad until I found this. The popiah skin was dry and soggy. It doesn't detach itself easily. The fillings inside were very bland; felt almost like it had no flavour whatsoever. In conclusion, there is no crunch, no texture, no flavour, no value. Not worth it.

Chicken feet is one of my favourite dish in Dim Sum. Wouldn't go by a meal of dim sum without having it. The chicken feet was a little chewy on the skin. I actually prefer a very thin layer of skin without much fats. This one has some laying underneath the skin. The sauce was pretty mild. It wasn't as exciting nor was it even a little spicy. Could have improve the sauce and the type of feet used.

One of the Clan Dim Sum Restaurant is located at Bandar Puteri. The environment of the shop is nice. The 鸡窝包 is very delicious and special. The shop is run by a Foo Chow. For purchase of 10 boxes, one box will be given for free. The 鸡窝包 contains salted egg, meats, mushroom, and so on. The price for the 鸡窝包 is a bit expensive, but it is worth it and must have a try if you have the chance.
