Max Gourmet (美食之家) is a sister chain restaurant in Penang. This outlet is located on a row of shops opposite Queensbay Mall. The restaurant is usually very crowded as both parking and dining tables are limited. It is among the better dim sum places around Penang.The trio of us had our dinner here. It was over 8:00pm but business was still non-stop. It is located in Gurney Plaza, Georgetown.Steamed egg yolk custard bunThis dim sum restaurant offers a variety of Hong Kong style dim sum. This steamed egg yolk custard bun is one of my favourite. The bun is soft and filled with runny rich egg yolk custard. The custard is not too sweet. It is best eaten while hot so that the custard is still runny.

Alrighty! I heard Max's foods consists of MSGs but couldnt care more since we were so hungry. 美食之家，有很多选择，有点心，也有主餐。因为它位于GSC戏院隔壁，所以人潮还蛮多的。我们也是在看戏之前来到这里解决我们的午餐。点了一个豆腐饭，还有附送一碗汤。当然，我们也点了小笼包。主餐食不错，但是小笼包就有点失水准。笼包的皮太后了一点，所以有点干。

First time went to this restaurant and was wandering why my friend bring me for dim sum for late lunch. After looking at the menu this restaurant do serves other than dim sum. Eventho it's crowded with people but the waitress are working efficiently to clean up the table and serves us well. Ordered this Sze Chuan Style Spicy Fried Tofu. The tofu is smooth and the gravy on the tofu is moderate spicy (just nice to me). Satisfying set of rice with spicy fried tofu.

The Max Gourmet was located beside the GSC Gurney when the time I visit. It is a restaurant that provide Chinese Food with acceptable price.Hiong ha Lo fried rice @ RM7.90This is so called Nasi Goreng Kampung in Malay, but it is quite different with the ordinary Nasi goreng kampung, cause it don't have the kangkung. Max Gourmet at Gurney Plaza is perhaps the best place to go, for a cheap, good and reasonably fast meal. The meals in the restaurant are many from dim sum to Chinese Cuisine.
