Had my annual CNY reunion dinner with some of high school friends. We chose this restaurant because we heard that they are famous for their crabs. We ordered a few dishes. For instance, beancurd which costs RM9. There was nothing special about the beancurd, it was quite ordinary. Besides that, we the current hype on salted egg, we ordered salted egg fried squid which costs RM20. It taste as amazing as any salted egg dishes   We also ordered a plate of Sambal stir fried kangkung for RM9, it was

Butter fried squid. We chose this butter fried squid to try. The coating was made of big flakes and being deep fried. After that, it was mashed with some butter sauce which make it more tasty. The fresh squid was quite springy. The squid was slightly salty due to the butter and I dipped it with chilli sauce to add more spicy to it. It made me addicted to this butter fried squid.

Chicken Stew. Actually the name of the dish was called chiken stew, it absolutely was an taiwanese 'three cup chicken'. The chicken was marinated with special homemade sauce and added on some spices, carrots, onions. It stewed came in a hot claypot and fulled with nice aroma. The chicken pieces were flooded with the sauce. The sauce was peppery and slightly salty. Overall, it was an good dish.

Hometown gong pao fish slices. Although this dish was named Hometown gong pao fish slices, actually it was the usual gong pao fish slices. The fresh fish was sliced into pieces and served together with onion, ginger and scallion. The dipping sauce was good and it tasted something different from the usual gong pao. The texture of fish still very good and did not have fishy smell.

Kangkung vegetable with belacan. This fried belacan kangkung basically which totally many restaurants offer it. We still ordered this vegetables almost every meal at outside. The kangkung vegetables was fresh and slimmy. The homemade belacan used were just nice and not too empowering. This was a good dish and definitely would order this again for my next visit.

Boiled squid with spicy sauce, although this dish was named boiled squid with spicy sauce, it was basically the 'dou ban jiang' together with some red chili. The fresh, chewy squid after got boiled, flooded with spicy sauce and the squid does not had strong fishy smell. The sauce was so addictive and I kept scooping it. The spicy was just nice would not keep me drinking water.

Hot piping dish in a hot pot is nice for a cold day. Off we head to Wong Poh Kelana Jaya and it never fails our tastebud. THe Kampung chicken meat is very tender and juicy and the broth is very aromatic. Ginger is aplenty and there is jew's ear with this nice hot pot. The taste is winery and not salty, the broth is not watery, the chicken is well simmered and well cook. Great one.

Wong Poh restaurant serves a lot of seafood dishes and Chinese cuisine. Teoh Chew fish is a dish that has salted vegetable broth, along with tofu and tomatoes and asam. The fish is very fresh and fish meat is soft and nice. The broth is well simmered into the fish and can be drink like soup. Very tasty indeed and great to take with rice. Fish size is nice to share with 3-4 person.

Butter crab. Since I was first introduced to this restaurant, I have been coming here quite often and recommending to friends as well. The butter crab ("nai yao") was surprisingly delicious with the melted butter sauce flooded the crab. You may ask for additional butter sauce with a cost. The crabs were quite big and fresh. The butter sauce was creamy and not too salty.

Ribs King ("Pai Kuat Wong"). Apart from the seafood dishes, we ordered a meat dish - Pai Kuat Wong. Nowadays the pai kuat wong came without bones, same as Wong Poh also. The sauce was quite thick and sticky. Each of the pieces were coated nicely. The meat was tender and the sauce was slightly sweet and some salty taste. This was quite a delicious dish to be ordered next time.

Salted egg squid ("Ham dan" sotong). Apart from the crab, we were on seafood fiesta, so we ordered the salted egg squid. This was a very sinful dish, as each of the squid was well coated with the salted egg coating. There were quite salty actually due to the salty egg, but it has a tint of sweetness to it. The squid was fresh and springy. I like this dish a lot and I kept eating non-stop.

I ordered the deep fried bun to go with the crab. I remembered the last time i visited this place with my friends, they were sold out of the buns. I always felt i have not finished the job if i don't come back for the second time and have the crab with the bun. So this time i managed to ordered the bun. Since there were only two of us, she recommended me to order two buns. However, i thought the bun is very small and insisted to order four buns. Well, i was shocked to see the size of the golden

这里的酸甜鱼很划算，很大一条鱼才RM8++左右，这条酸甜鱼被简单的炸脆后，会被淋上已调制好的酸甜汁，里面还会加上些姜丝来调味盒避免有鱼腥味，酱汁酸酸甜甜还带点辣味，送饭吃的话真的有很好味道！

We also ordered a spinach soup as we wanted to have some vegetables. Instead of ordering the stir fry vegetables, we opted for the spinach cooked in soup. I think it was a wise choice, as we get to eat the vegetables with less oil and still be able to drink the soup. The soup was very delicious as Chinese wine was added into it.
