If there are any out there that absolutely adores any dish that involves pork, especially super succulent and tender pork meat, then Champ Kitchen is definitely the place to go to. The one thing that they are very famous for is the braised pork shoulder that usually comes in one long log simmering in a claypot. However that is enough to feed a table of at least eight people, so for only three to four companies you can opt for half of the shoulder portion.

The meat apparently is braised for 72 hours which is why it is meltingly tender and also super flavourful. Having this with the sauce doused over a bowl of hot rice is super comforting however not exactly ideal for those that are watching their diet, being the new year and all.

Because I saw this on the menu and it is my absolute favourite, we also ordered the braised pork belly with preserved vegetable. Although all you see is one slab of meat plus a lot of the vegetables and sauce, rest assured that the size of meat is bigger than what you would expect.

However I am not quite into the taste of this as I am more familiar to a sweeter version of this dish that my grandma always makes - though with that being said, this is also quite good. Everyone at the table couldn't get enough of it.

To counteract the artery clogging meats, we also got some steamed lettuce with garlic oil. This was alright but not as healthy as I thought it would be because there was a lot of oil and also some soya sauce. Pretty alright but nothing to shout about.
