It is said that a trip to Ipoh is incomplete if one does not visit Restoran Tauge Ayam Lou Wong. Located right smack in the middle of city, the restaurant is quite easy to find. were many, the table turnover was quite fast, and we found ourselves a table after couple of minutes. We ordered, and the food came in a jiffy. Wifey wanted the hor fun soup, while I opted for rice. We ordered two persons worth of chicken and beansprouts. The portion was quite big actually, and we struggled to finish it. The rice was warm and fluffy, quite aromatic as well. The hor fun is smooth and silky, sliding down the throat easily. The soup has a slight MSG flavour, but it is expected. The chicken was juicy and tender, very very smooth. I like the beansprouts from this place as it is the short and fat version, not the long and thin ones that we get in KL. Overall, a very good meal, albeit it was sweltering hot during the afternoon sun.
