Been curious about Bens General Foodstore (not to be confused with the usual Bens restaurant) in a while. Thus we decide to satisfy our curiousity last weekend :3 Behold our various delectables: Barley Risotto with mushroom. Frankly it taste sour. For some weird reason for this dish as barley is suposed to taste bland, no? . Maybe they add a wee bit too much vinegar in it. However, the mushrooms was cooked just nice, soft and tender. Quiche. Pronounced as "Kee-sh". It has chicken meat fillings

Frankly it taste sour. For some weird reason for this dish as barley is suposed to taste bland, no? . Maybe they add a wee bit too much vinegar in it. However, the mushrooms was cooked just nice, soft and tender. Quiche.
Pronounced as "Kee-sh". It has chicken meat fillings in it as well as eggs and cheese. Being a quiche baker that I am, thsi was just an average fare. Add a bit more cottage cheese and cream and cook the chicken a bit more will make this quiche taste MUCH better and heartier. Bangers.
Though expensive, the bangers are one of the more delicious meals here. It was juicy and grilled just nice at the right temperature. Imported and higher quality sausages was also used. Red Velvet Cake.
Supposedly one of their signature desserts. I reallly did not quite knw what to expect as its my first red velvet cake. I expect it to be on the strawberry/raspberry side but this cake was none of those. Instead its just sweet and would appeal to sweet-tooths out there. The cream layer on top was okay and a bit sour to balance out the sweetness.
Overall it is quite an okay restaurant and i would say it fare better than its twin, Bens restaurant.
