Yam cakes are one of the most eaten food especially for breakfast! Easy and cooks a lot using the steam technique, why not learn this recipe and cook for your family?

Ingredient and Portion
Ingredients A
750g diced yam / 芋头丁 750克
6 tbsp oil / 食油 6汤匙

Ingredients B
20g tapioca starch / 木薯粉 20克
6 1/2 cups water / 清水 6 1/2杯
400g rice flour / 粘米粉 400克
25g wheat starch / 澄面粉 25克
1 1/2tsp salt / 盐 1 1/2茶匙
1 1/2tsp pepper / 胡椒粉 1 1/2茶匙
1/2 tsp five-spiced powder / 五香粉 1/2茶匙
1 tbsp sesame oil / 麻油 1汤匙
1/2 tbsp sugar / 糖 1/2汤匙

3 cloves garlic (minced) / 大蒜(剁细碎) 3瓣
100g dried shrimp / 虾米 100克
some chopped spring onion / 青葱粒 少许
1 red chili (diced) / 红辣椒(切丁)1条
100g fried shallots / 炸葱 100克

1.Stir-fry diced yam with oil till fragrant. Add in Ingredients B and keep on stirring till mixture thickens. Pour into greased mould and steam for 30 minutes.

2.Stir-fry dried shrimp and minced garlic till fragrant. Remove and mix well with the remaining Topping Ingredients. Sprinkle over steamed Or Kueh before cutting into pieces and serve.
