300g glutinous rice flour (sifted) / 糯米粉(筛过) 300克 1 cup water / 清水 1杯 300g white sugar / 白糖 300克 2pcs Banana leaves (cut into 6cm strips & scalded) / 香蕉叶剪成6公分长条 2片(烫软) 9cm round tins 2pcs / 9公分直径圆罐 2个
Method
1. Line tins with banana leaves for 3 layers. The banana leaves should be 5cm higher than the tins. Fold leaves over edge of the tin & tie with a string. 把长形香蕉叶铺罐底,铺三层,香蕉叶长度必须比罐高出5公分,高出来的部分反摺向罐边,以绳子绑好。
2. Sift flour into a mixing bowl; mix in water & sugar gradually until sugar dissolves. 把糯米粉筛入搅拌盆内,加入水和糖,搓至糖溶解。
3. Pour batter into prepared tins & steam for 12 hours. Maintain water level in the steamer by regularly adding boiling water. 把米糊倒入铺叶罐子里,蒸12小时,期间须不断加滚水以保持蒸锅的水分。
4. When done, cake will turn caramel. Leave in tin to cool completely before unmould. 一旦煮成,年糕会转深糖色。让它冷却后才从罐子取出。
