Ingredients / 材料
1 chicken / 鸡 1只
4 chestnut / 栗子4粒
2 black fungus / 木耳 2朵
100g wolfberry /枸杞 100克
1 onion / 洋葱 1粒
1/2 carrot / 红萝卜 1/2 条
2 Chinese mushroom / 香菇 2朵
5 slices Yu Zhu / 玉竹 5片
2 cloves garlic / 蒜头 2瓣
1 slice preserved turnip / 大头菜 1片
3-4 slices Bei Qi / 北芪 3-4片
2 slices ginger / 姜 2片


SEASONING / 调味料
2 tbsp light soy sauce / 酱油/生抽 2汤匙


Method
PREPARATION / 准备工作
1. Soak chestnuts in water for 6 hours.
栗子浸水6个小时。

2. Cut onion into dices. Soak Chinese mushrooms and cut into small pieces.
洋葱切丁。冬菇浸水后切小块。

3. Peel carrot and cut into dices.
红萝卜削皮切丁。

4. Rinse all Ingredients and cut them into dices.
其他所有材料洗净切小块。

5. Rinse the whole chicken and clean the cavity.
鸡整只洗净,清理内腔。


METHOD /做法
1. Put all ingredients into the chicken’s cavity.
把全部材料从鸡的尾部塞进鸡腔内。

2. Pour light soy sauce into the chicken’s cavity.
把酱油倒进鸡腔里。

3. Seal the chicken with toothpicks or sew it.
用牙签封好,或用针线缝口。

4. Put the chicken in a steamer or double boiler, bring to a boil over high heat. Turn to low heat and braise/steam for about an hour until the chicken and all ingredients are cooked and tender.
入炖锅或蒸锅,大火煮沸,转小火焖/蒸约1小时 至鸡只和材料变软熟。

5.Cut to open the chicken chest before serving.
上桌前剪开鸡胸即可。
