So highly recommended by the owner of Hyderabad Birjani House (amazing spot), I simply had to check it out. It took 3 attempts to actually get there, 2 of them destroyed by timing or incessant loud construction from the back of the kitchen. Dosa-wise, everything was generally good but there was this bizarre sweet-taste to the actual dosa. Perhaps it was the oil or ghee they cooked it in, but it left a lingering unease.  continue reading

Now in case you are wondering what else is served here other than the famous banana leaf rice, there is assorted cakes and light bites on a table and customers normally pick their choices and help themselves with it seeing how the waiters took such a long time to attend to them. Hmm…to think of it now, that must have been the strategy for them to make more money. People get restless after a long wait and they’ll eventually help themselves with the many choices of snacks and light bites. After the main course, there is of course more selection of deserts, which each of it almost tasted the same to me. Probably differences in texture, but they all tasted really sweet. continue reading

Hubby and I are also fans of their fried fish. When we see the waiter holding a metal tray on top of his head approaching, we would stop him to get a piece of the fried fish. The fish is marinated with some curry paste before being deep-fried, and the result is a curry flavoured piece of delectable, flaky piece of fish. There were also no fishy smell, definitely thumbs-up! continue reading

This place is good for authentic Indian banana leaf rice. First experience was an interesting one, once you sit, few people coming with banana leaf, vege, curry, soup, different meat dishes to serve you as if you were the guest of honor – it’s really was a nice feeling. The meat dishes are about RM5 per dish so for those who like variety, don’t get carried away. The dried curry chicken is pretty good. I like the rasam soup, which clears your throat after the meal. A friend likes the salty dried chilli they serve with the rice. Don’t forget to fold the banana leaf the inwards if you like the meal. Other than the banana leaf rice, you should try ‘kutuk paratha’ or mince paratha fried with tomato and egg that looks like char kuey teow. You can add other dishes vege & meat to go with it. After a satisfying meal, get some traditional desserts like the milk candy in front of the shop. continue reading

Whee Bottomless is always catch my attention. Rice is my all time favourites. So when bottomless rice comes together. I will definitely go for it. Normally banana leaf rice can offers your bottomless rice. After you finish, then you can ask them add more for you.The fish curry at here is quite normal but the chicken curry is quite a blast. It brings out a little bit spicy that can brings out your appetite. Then when you eat with fried chicken, if you can still eat it, you will keep eating it. The rice is limitless but too bad my stomach isn't continue reading
