I had to meet someone for work and since we lived nearby, we decided on having brunch at La Risata. It's been a long while since I had last visited the restaurant and remembered really liking the food there. So that's where I decided to meet.Although my companion already ate beforehand, I went ahead and ordered something for myself as I hadn't. The dish that I wanted was the potato gnocchi with red pepper cream sauce with chorizo sausage, it was the best thing I have ever tried. However they did have something else rather similar which was what I got. It's the Spinach Potato Gnocchi with Tomato Cream sauce. The dish also came with some fresh rockets, grilled vegetables and a portobello mushroom. If you were a big eater than this meal could feed you very happily, but if you have a smaller appetite then this is a good order to share between two people. One would expect something with so much potato & flour to be super dense. But somehow La Risata has a way of making it incredibly light and airy. Plus the addition of some spinach in there really gives the gnocchi a whole new flavour which I personally really liked. The sauce was nice as the tomato flavour mixed with some cream and cheese really changed a usually tangy sauce into something different. I really like visiting La Risata because of the ambience and the service each time I am there is amazing. Would definitely be back for more~ continue reading

Charmingly decorated with exposed brick façade that exudes the very essence of Italian dining, La Risata which means “The Laughter”, welcomes you to a mirthful, gastronomic journey of authentic Italian food.Touted as one the famous bevanda, I tried Virgin Mojitos as recommended. True enough, it’s very refreshingly awakening with its fragrant mint leaves and lime juice with Italian soda. An all-time companion, especially during the sultry day. The interior of their flagship restaurant in Ampang features a double-storey sky-light courtyard with a beautiful antique chandelier being the center piece of the restaurant. Very relaxing and classy indeed. Homemade Bread with TapenadeComplimentary before meal, they serve us fluffy bread with a dip of finely chopped olives and capers. This rich olive spread is perfect when you're in the mood for a taste of the Mediterranean. Well made with good ingredients, it is wonderful with a salty lushness.Ravioli Di Pesce @ RM27This is the first remarkable dish I've uncovered during the meal. It is a house specialty of freshly made salmon ravioli in a creamy salmon sauce. The sauce is complementing the ravioli so well! It's definitely a must-try!Each sheet of fresh pasta is filled with a savory chunk of salmon with pepper. Considering this as an impressive masterpiece, I have no complaints at all with the specially made sauce which is rich in salmon taste. Very cheesy and slightly salty but I love it! continue reading
